Re: 1000 cid nitro funny car

I wonder when will it be when a one serious speed junkies will put one of these really big engines on nitro and run it down the 1/4 mile. I believe that the speed rating for the GoodYear fuel tire is 340 MPH. Stan Then its high time Goodyear gets off their asses or they'll be running 750 ft. soon. ...

Re: 1000 cid nitro funny car

But, its unsafe to go that fast. 1000 ci motors with governors that only let them go so fast and run to the 330 mark. Safety first. and 330 is safe................ right #-o Maybe the drivers should sit in the stands and run the cars by remote control just to be safe. Nobody is forcing anybody to s...

Re: That 805 hp 87 octane street 572 - again!

Sorry if I underestimated your familiarity with dyno data S10, but I honestly don't see anything else wrong with it. Can you explain? Also, I'm not angry, it's more like self-serving defensiveness, not wanting to lose what I feel is a very reliable source of arcane technical info. Peace. my guess i...

Re: Water injection on a diesel is it worth it ?

All the diesel engine tractor pullers use water injection but it sounds like you want water injection for a different reason.

Is there any video of it performing in a kart?
Forget anything you see on the website and have a look around the net and you'll know why.

Re: Two stroke oil in gasoline of 4 strokes

RE speedway bikes. They run pure methanol as per the rules They do test fuel, It's not that they don't want you running lube it's that they wanna make sure you don't run any nitro. And the smoke... maybe that was a few years back when they were using a 2 ring piston with a Napier instead of a prope...

Re: Two stroke oil in gasoline of 4 strokes

I've heard it is fairly common on highly tuned 4 stroke race bikes running E85, E100 or Methanol to use a small amount of good 2 stroke oil to help with top end lubrication/corrosion. 4 stroke Speedway bikes run methanol and they run 2 stroke oil in the fuel and quite a bit of it I think cause they...

Ya, 2 of these 3 words describe the game very well. What a waste of TV airtime and TV sucks to start with. Like a really bad high school football game.

Re: Worlds fastest prod bike is ELECTRIC

Interesting, to some, but not relevant to the Engine Tech section. If you don't love all that encompasses engines, sight, sound, smell, performance, perhaps another forum would better suit your needs. What difference does it make how fast the electric bike is, it's still electric. No matter what you...
