Does any one drill direct holes or slot upper bearing to feed more oil to the thrust?
Just had this happen to a 5.7 aluminium block LS after about 1000miles of abuse....if it was an assembly error I would thought it should hurt thrust on first chassis dyno session

Re: Shout out to Mike Jones 2!!
You cannot compare a limited rule Super Stock class engine to a fully developed, high-budget NASCAR engine. One of the few that has spent most of his career in NASCAR, but also understands Stock and Super Stock Class Eliminator engines is Warpspeed (Jay), and I do not see him spouting ignorance. Se...

Re: Engine Masters (MotorTrend) Tests Oil Viscosity
Hello RDY4WAR, I did some research on the Mobil 1 0-30 and 0-50 WT. Synthetic Track use only oils to partially compare to comparison chart you posted. Both of the fore mentioned oils have 1940 of Zinc and 1770 of Phosphorus. Kinematic Visc. @ 100 cel. 10.8 and 19.5. , Shear Visc. @ 150 Cel. appx. 3...

Victor E would be perfect for this
So pissed of edelbrock stopped doing them

Re: Shout out to Mike Jones!
It just seems to me you manage harmonics with the cam derivatives, springs, and maybe pushrod shape, but a lever should always be as stiff as possible. The forgotten effect of aluminium is the higher inherent damping which also helps with harmonics. I have heard whispers that some people have chang...

I have been using penngrade Nitro 70W for many years
No issues. I agree solid grease could cause issues

What actually causes to nose of flat tappets to wear like that early in their life?
Is it oil quality or lubrication break down
Or spring pressure related

Re: Super Victor sharpie experiment
I’m going to dyno a 400 chev next week. I always cut the top of runners back and grind out the bumps
These combos make about 625hp on pump gas
I might start with a stock 2925 and baseline dyno engine
Then remove intake and do plenum mods and dyno test on same day..

Re: Spark plug read, IFR/IAB and primary jet
An .036” IDle jets is enough for a 1050 dominator
As other experienced guys on here have said
Get it down to .028”-.030”. And then tune with
Air bleed
This will make a huge difference

Re: 2 piece Rear Main Seal for SBC
Start a thread on this subject please. I just built one that has a small oil leak, and the RMS is about the only place I havent really looked real good at. Is this a common thing with the SHP? I did start a thread on this a few months ago and got not many replies I have tried felpro brown and blue....

Re: Sbc Dart SHP rear main leaks
If this is a more recent factor, is there something wrong with the SHP block & rear main cap? I don't really like the idea of a 50% chance of leaking oil, even when installed correctly. I feel that the SHP cap has less slot area than a stock chev oem cap and could possibly be holding up too muc...
