Tapered pilots are not very accurate. This is probably where your problem comes from.
I hope this helps.

If you haven't had any luck yet - you can always get someone to cam doctor the cam for you. that will give you the specs on that cam.
Hope this helps.

Re: Which rings will save this?
I just got in from the shop and I think you are correct. I just pulled the heads apart that were supposed to be perfect and found most of the intakes and some of the exhaust guides were knurled. A few guides were replaced. The knurled ones are definitely looser than the new ones. Those intake valve...

Re: Ford announce plans to return to F1 from the 2026 season
The Aurora was built in England. The engine is probably most related and inspired by the 2.0l pinto than anything. 4.016" bore centers, 8.169" deck height, bore and stroke were slightly different, but nothing that couldn't be overcome if you were gonna go that far. Aurora 4.0l 93mmx73mm 2...

Re: radius exhaust seat on a newen machine
A proper close up of the finished seat would be good to see.
The way the video is taken you don't really get to see the actual seat.

Re: MLS gaskets & alloy blocks & heads
If your block and/or heads are not up to scratch hardness wise then MLS head gaskets would not be the wise choice.
Have the hardness of your heads and block checked.
Keep in mind that nearly all late model engines with alloy block & heads use MLS head gaskets.
I hope this helps.

Re: Water Pressure Issue
Your combustion in the cooling system will be coming from combustion leaking past the head gasket. If the torque on your head studs has not relaxed ( re - check your stud torque ) then it is most likely from the surface finish on the head and / or block deck. MLS head gaskets require a very fine (sm...

In fairness to water wetter and If I recall right it should not be used with straight up tap water due to the mineral content , and the same goes in general with cutting your own antifreeze. You raise an interesting point. I've always tended to cut the anti-freeze with demineralized or deionized wa...
