Like the sound. Waaaayyyyy beter than the tuned exhaust systems on the cars.
Also like that you doing it different.
I'm a chevy guy but looking at rods with all of them sbc ,gets boring after a while. All you looking at is different colours and who can put the most chrome on them.

Re: Wheel nuts.

To get the last word in, If I was OP, I would still avoid the alum nuts, Dont worry. I got chrome steel nuts.(more correct for what i'm doing anyway.) Was just a general question in regards to alum nuts. Thanks for the info. Aluminium is so passé. https://www.google.com/search?q=titanium+lug+nuts D...

?
Maybe the anodized nuts just have a thin shell over a steel core.
Maybe. Never really looked in detail. Sealed in that plastic holder. Just saw it says aluminium.

Re: Wheel nuts.

Was one of those wondering questions, so i asked. i have always used steel nuts. Got some chrome bulge nuts eventually. Interesting on how many there were, loads of different types, shapes and colours. By itself it looks cool but wasn't what i had in mind for my current build. I'm old school so not ...

Wheel nuts.

Hi all.
Been looking around for wheel nuts and saw some thats anodised in various colours. Made of aluminium.
Can they be used safely on a street car? Or is it just that bling factor for shows?
Price wise they are little bit more than chrome steel nuts.

Re: Oil smoke revisited

Maybe the oil isn't drained fast enough. Have seen numerous head gaskets where the drain hole is off and partly closes the drainback hole in the head.
Just a thought.

Re: Do electric turbo chargers work???

Many decades ago a friend of mine plumbed the heater blower to the carbs on his Austin Healy for a little free HP. #-o Years ago a friend of a friend did something similar. Only he utilized the aircon to cool the air for the engine. First setup was thru the heater/ac box and then he moved the conde...

Re: Single 44 idf weber on chevy inline six

chevyfreak , real hot rodding is alive and well ! Are those the generic (non OE) Weber copies ? If so, be interesting to see how you get on with them. Never used them myself, but have heard mixed reports, so feedback would be appreciated Never used dual DGVs in that fashion personally but from some...

Re: Single 44 idf weber on chevy inline six

:D Huge thumbs up, chevyfreak! That's a beautifully conceived and executed intake! Love it! I'm sure you will be very happy with the performance on your 266 inline 6. How are your 32/36 DGV caburettors jetted at present and which emulsion tubes are you running? First car I ran one of those on was a...

Re: Single 44 idf weber on chevy inline six

Also had time to finish the other intake to use the 2 dgv webers.
Over here the 153 chevy came with a weber intake on the h.o models. Took 2 of those, some cutting and welding and machining to get it done. Will give this one a try on the 266.
Gonna use 2 x 32/36dgv carbs.

Re: Single 44 idf weber on chevy inline six

Been a big while. We had a complete lockdown due to covid19. Gave me time to finish another project and decided to use the idf setup on this 250 inline six. Head also had bolt boss removed. Bit of a cleanup in the ports. And a bit of a cut to clean up the deck. Had a nasty mark. But cleaned up at .0...

Re: Dual quad sbc application

Surprised F-BIRD'88 hasn't already gotten here, as he is a firm believer that if it ain't supercharged, it really wants a 2x4 tunnel ram. (Of course, I agree with him most times.) I like his idea with the 2xqjets for his 6barrel setup. :D . But he will add his advise on the subject. Chevyfreak.
