Re: Measuring for pushrods...part deux

My Scorpion 1.65 rockers show just about 1.7, & the 1.5 were close to 1.55.

Re: Flexplate gap bbc

I had one that ended up at .065, but ran it, it was OK but I pulled it & had it restalled & thought I told the conv. gut to take .030+ off but he didn't.Chucked the snout in the lathe & to some off myself. Shortening the convertor hub would decrease the convertor-to-flex plate clearance, assuming t...

Re: 6800 rpm 421 SBC Combo

Eric & Chad both sell fully ported Profilers. I have a set that I got from Eric, nice heads but the D port Ex. makes header fitting a pain.

Re: Rockers too high on the studs?

The best way to see exactly how your rocker is contacting the tip with a hydraulic lifter as it goes through the sweep/lift range is to pull the guts out of one lifter and pack it with washers to get the plunger where it will be at running condition. I agree with this, except I can't figure out how...

Re: Intake manifold advice for VORTEC style....

Your car runs just under 12 flat and in a datalog you posted a while back 4 seconds were above 5500 rpm (top of 1st and 2nd gear) with 8 seconds below 5500 rpm. Your final pull in third gear is nearly 5 seconds long from 4600-5400 rpm. I think a dual plane with a good double pumper would make a big...

Re: Intake manifold advice for VORTEC style....

Hi Jim, I think testing and reporting back helps everyone, application and expectations trump opinion, I think a modified airgap in a pure street application works pretty well, but I am partial to a single plane :D Is your Vic. ported? Mine is so Thinking it might lose more yet with a DP. Your car ...

Re: Intake manifold advice for VORTEC style....

I done a lot of testing this year at the track 50 plus passes and differences in air gap and single plane VIC JNR was 2 tenths and 2 mph up on the single plane. The air gap was quicker in the 60ft by a few hundredths, this is after also testing a 830 annular, 950 hp and 850 race demon. Best results...
