Re: Most aerodynamic Muscle Cars?
Good points about not just drag, but stability and lift. I once had a 1976 Porsche 914 2.0L. It would do about 120 mph. At that speed it felt like the front tires were barely touching the ground.

WTB 2x4 carb enclusure
Anybody know where I can get one of these? I am looking for the carb enclosure, not the intake and carbs.
Thanks,

Re: Piston ring thickness in boosted applications.
I believe the first concern is how far down the top ring groove is from the piston top. Then comes what the ring is made of and then if it’s barrel face ring or not. The best way to cool the whole set up is to set the oil system up to squirt oil up into the bottom of the piston. With some ingenuity...

Re: Piston ring thickness in boosted applications.
Thanks for the reply. No computers on this build. Just a carburetor with a MSD-6BTM box to retard ignition timing with boost. With a conservative tune, conservative compression, the best forged pistons and the best rings, it might live. However, BTDTNA. There's a reason OEM turbos/superchargers bec...

Piston ring thickness in boosted applications.
Does forced induction affect the choice of piston ring thickness? I am getting custom pistons made so I have some choices. Like 10 psi or so? I would guess not, but I thought it worth asking.

High Performance Machine Shop in Kansas City/Topeka area?
Anyone know of a good machine shop in the KC/Topeka area? Preferrably with a engine dyno or access to one? Looking to get a supercharged Ford FE built, tuned, and dynoed?
Thanks for any leads,
Paul

Re: Most aerodynamic Muscle Cars?
How did the Monza'a rate with the 350? I don't know how correct this. Just throwing it out there. http://www.v8monza.com/drawing.htm That car is listed as having a .40CD and that had a decent shape on the back of it. Most modern shitboxes are sub .30cd. My 91 CRX was in the .30 for the SI and the e...

Re: Most aerodynamic Muscle Cars?
71 mustang looks the slickest to me I would agree but, for the FLAT front end! Flat and concave and big! The '71 Mustang front end, that is. That's one reason why I wondering if the '67-'68 Camaro was fairly aerodynamic. While the front end/grill is flat, it is somewhat small in area and looks pret...

Re: Most aerodynamic Muscle Cars?
I imagine smooth hubcaps would help, too.
I sometimes put some 1965 Galaxie hubcaps on my 1967 Cougar. It has Weld Rodlites underneath. This was the only pic I could find of my Cougar with the hubcaps on, LOL!

Cool article! Thanks.Dan Timberlake wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 10:49 am A slight nose down attitude can be worth a little something too. At least it was back in 1966.
I doubt pumping up the Hi-Jackers in the back would accomplish the same thing.
