Re: 1 5/8” headers and 500hp?

I believe that Calvin Elston stated that a 1 5/8 tube is good for 73.7 HP per cylinder, which is good for 589.6 HP total. If I understand correctly.

Re: What is the quality of the current Chinese imports?

Fly; that does not have anything to do with quality, the bob weight was so much less then the counter weights were designed for. Instead of turning the counter weights into Swiss cheese, the machinist turned down the counter weights to match the bob weights. I hope this helps you.

Re: Bench Data

Chad, I`m thinking leave as is, put your whole induction system together and flow it. That should slow things down. That CFM and velocity would really help part throttle response.

Re: to fast over SSR

Steve, this may help you,Darin Morgan posted this in 2005. My personal opinion and from what I have learned about exhaust ports I have to say that small super fast exhaust ports make more power over larger high flowing exhaust ports except in the case of full exhaust systems such as Nextel cup engin...

Re: Broken Rocker Studs... Why?

Sounds like they are press in studs, when you have to convert to screw in studs. Looks like you found the limits of stock factory studs, with that seat pressure, it`s a wonder that you`re not jacking the studs out of the heads. If you`re buying new studs and rockers then upgrade to ARP 7/16 studs an...

Re: Oil pump

With increased bearing clearances and low engine speeds from idling and slow speed street driving, a high volume oil pump is your safest way to go as it will pump a greater volume of oil at slower speeds then a regular pump. You want that volume, not pressure.

Not trying to hi-jack sgcuda`s thread but just a question about blocks. Andy, do you use stock blocks on your high power builds and what do you do to them to make them live and for how long do they survive?
