epoxy to repair damaged jet tower on motorcycle carbs
Corrosion has damaged the jet tower on my Honda CB550 carbs to where the gas leaks by the o-ring on the jet. Is there a modified epoxy that I could use to repair that and machine it down that will hold up to gas?

Theres some stuff called Belzona epoxy that we use to repair transformers thats really good and expensive. Ive used it to do the same thing years ago

Re: Old school ring seating trick ??
At Daytona in 1963 we snuck into the pits and I watched Smokey Yunick dust a can on Bon Ami cleanser down the carb of a 421 Pontiac engine to seat the rings

Re: 10-30 oil verses 20-50 oil?
Ive seen a tenth and a half on a 69 Camaro 350/255 NHRA stocker from 20/50 to 10/30 and that was 20+ years ago. It has to be more now with the water grade oils

Re: Gain from lifter bore blueprinting?
Back in the late 60s & 70s I couldnt figure out why one identical stocker engine hauled butt and an identical one was a turd. The 428 FE blocks must have really been a mess from the factory

Ive also seen the end exhaust valves leak on 428 FE Fords with a block plate bolted on them. This was with unheated heads

Re: Mission Impossible 318ci 318HP
It looks to me like the guy is testing a setup for a 2 barrel Mopar NHRA stock eliminator class. He doesn't run a 4 barrel because its a higher class with a lower record, mo money. I understand this because Ive done the same thing years ago but I understand those that dont get it

I personally watched Smokey Yunick dust Bon Ami down the carb of a Pontiac race car at the 64 Daytona 500 to seat the rings. People may call BS on it but its a true story
