Re: Opinions on my street 427 Windsor dyno results?

427 do the 69 heads flow that much better than 85. With the right combo knowing what you know do you think you can get enough hp out of stock heads and intake to go mid 12 or quicker? Sounds like the 7.5 rear is the weak link.I think it is but you have done extensive work I’d be interested in heari...

Re: Opinions on my street 427 Windsor dyno results?

How many engine mods to run 12.60 then? Or was that original motor setup? Well I started in stages over a period of 3-4 years. When new I did basic things like rejetting the factory 585 Holley and with the dealer installed 3.73 gear in the little 7.5 rear I was running 14.70's with the stock Gatorb...

Re: Severe engine overheat = now overheating oil???

Is it mostly a street driven type car? I gladly give up a few HP to run the stock clutch fan and a good engine driven water pump for street use.
Now I do have a 12 inch electric pusher fan hidden low in front of radiator for those summertime melt downs at a long traffic light!

Re: Opinions on my street 427 Windsor dyno results?

Very cool setup. Is that a 83 mustang? I like that body style the best. It is a 1985 LX. I ordered it as a 5.0 HO with the 5spd. with dealer installed 3.73 gears back in late April 1985. Always a project car and never driven in bad weather or Winter car has 26,000 miles on it and was in several Mus...

Re: Opinions on my street 427 Windsor dyno results?

Is pme price Motorsports? Im impressed by exh flow on heads. Not used to that in Clevelands. Yes... Price Motorsport Engineering. He told me he had a version of the 427 Tunnel Wedge intake for the 351W on prints but has not as yet brought it to casting. That would be an interesting intake on my set...

Re: Opinions on my street 427 Windsor dyno results?

I must mention that this dyno run was at a local large car show in late summer and of course temps in high 80's and 55% Humidity.....typical Central Va. weather. The carb setup was a pair of 1850 series 600 Holley carbs with the addition of 650 1 11/16 throttle plates. Now I'm running the same 650 H...

Opinions on my street 427 Windsor dyno results?

Been a while since I was able to log on here and glad to be back. Can't recall whether I had posted the results of a Dynojet test on my 427 Windsor setup from a year or so ago but would like to see what some of you think. I built this Dart blocked engine back in 2010 and it still runs strong no smok...

Crane Cams ignition and FAST products ?

I just found out that at some time FAST had bought out the Crane Cams ignition products and from looking at their products it seems so. Is the quality still up there with the old FireBall Hi-6 boxes? I have a Crane Fireball Hi-6 box and it's been running fine for years. Just wondered if the FAST stu...

Re: Carb questions

Might want to verify the sizes of Idle Feed Restrictor in both metering blocks and measure sizes of the Idle Air Bleeds front and rear. When using your AFR gauge fire up the engine and let it run for 30 seconds before turning the AFR unit on. This helps prevent moisture from blowing onto the sensor ...

Re: Carb questions

Are the idle air bleeds same size in Secondary as the Primary? Make sure no debris is in the secondary air bleed jets.
What happens if you have the mixture screws out 1/2 turn front and rear?

Re: Carb Questions

There is a carb shop that,if you have the bucks, makes 4160 style double pump Holley carbs in whatever CFM you need.
Around 1200 bucks per carb if you want inline carbs. http://www.compfuelsystems.com/

You need the Vac. Secondary pots back on!

Any links to Gen II 426 Hemi owners forums? Can't seem to find much.
One I did find...The Hemi.com... doesn't have much and have a problem with email addresses when trying to register.
Just trying to help out my brother on his long and confused Hemi build.

How to improve airflow here?

This is a picture of the Cylinder #6 intake runner/plenum entrance. The floor of that plenum area is the roof of lower level which congest the area due to height of the intake runner layout. I ground some material from the top of the plenum area to open it up but you are limited due to wall thicknes...
