Re: Covid 19
My former boss passed away yesterday, massive heart attack. They are trying to rule it COVID-19 as he had the antibodies from having it last month. Shameful! No, not shameful. "THEY" are the front line health workers, risking their own lives in the fight to save others. "THEY" are the real experts ...

Re: Covid 19
A 78 year old has 220 times the risk of death compared to a 20 year old. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/covid-data/investigations-discovery/hospitalization-death-by-age.html That doesn't mean a 78 year old has 100% risk and it doesn't mean a 20 year old has zero risk. Every case is differ...

Re: Looking to buy a used electric car
https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1104072_bmw-i3-rex-electric-car-lawsuit-range-extender-power-loss-alleged The lawsuit highlights the difference to the Volt which has a larger aux engine recharging the battery. In many senses that seems a very frivolous lawsuit. If the car did not have the REX ...

Re: America
I don't understand. I thought Republicans were smarter than democrats? Yet it seems that all over the country it is Democrat fraudsters that have been able to cheat the system with Republicans (or Trumpsters - are they really the same thing???) are too honest or too dumb to balance things with cheat...

Re: The Real! MUSTANG MACH E is here
You've got your facts wrong as far as how those motors create torque and use current...good luck. If you would like to quote any "facts" you disagree with, I can show you where you are wrong, otherwise your post belongs in the same category as this masterpiece. Electric cars are nothing more than a...

Covid death toll
With the world death toll now "in the millions" and USA over 200,000 there is debate over the accuracy of reporting. CDC says that total deaths in the USA this year is 300,000 above expectation. https://newatlas.com/health-wellbeing/cdc-300000-excess-deaths-usa-coronavirus-covid19/?utm_source=New+At...

Re: The Real! MUSTANG MACH E is here
Bear in mind I'm not designing electric cars for a living, so I can only speculate on what they do. When reading up on the subject I note that the Tesla's seem to have a reduction gear to increase torque to the wheels. This obviously would reduce the top end speed substantially (I read somewhere th...

Re: The Real! MUSTANG MACH E is here
The question of how quickly the battery depletes is actually very simple. Far easier to analyse using energy than current. All you need to know is the mechanical power required, the motor rpm and the conversion (motor, controller, inverter etc) efficiency at each stage. The energy draw at launch is ...

Re: The Real! MUSTANG MACH E is here
Also, if you know anything about electric motors, you would know that they have a current draw in a low rpm high torque situation which is up to +-9X the nominal draw. Your graph is completely out of context as it doesn't show what the current draw is when trying to accelerate from a dead stop. I k...

Re: The Real! MUSTANG MACH E is here
BTW: the electric motors in the EV's (most use AC motors due to their better power density) are driven by 3 phase power, so the formula you used is wrong :D (P = 1,73 * U * I) So you think I should use a 3 phase AC formula to calculate the current draw from a battery? From say a 500v battery, that ...

You're welcome!
I am sure all here are equally convinced by the facts you have quoted and the sound logic used to reach your conclusion.

Re: The Real! MUSTANG hwMACH E is here
You can assume anything you want. I don't care. Are you going to debate that an electric motor (any type) when being in a high torque, low speed situation is going to draw a lot of amps ? Are you going to debate that drawing that much amps means a lot of power is consumed, power that needs to come ...
