Re: Calvin Elston exhausts?

Still at the same address in Matthews NC. google voice number is shown in my signature. Notice I took down my web-site. Don't need anymore work but still can and am building stuff if someone is persistent enough to get to me and isn't in too much of a hurry. It was a pleasure getting to talk to you...

Re: Stock Eliminator secrets?

A big part of my program has been the Elston 4-2-1 headers. We were testing headers and had four sets on the engine during one dyno session. What we saw with the Elston's led me to further conversation with Calvin and further gains both on the dyno and at the track. Where we ended up is about 180 d...

Re: Stock Eliminator secrets?

I may be remembering it wrong, but I think Engine Masters compared a dragster pan to a rear sump car pan and found more power with the car pan. Weird... I remember Lingenfelter saying he wanted to run a Corvette in Comp (or Super Stock) versus the typical Camaro because that chassis could run a ful...

Re: Comp Cams Dual Conical SR Valve Springs

Any one else use these 7245 conicals? I have only found some mag articles on a bbm using a rather aggressive 266 deg .473” lobe lift cam to 7500 rpm on a 2.19” valve and the ls motor that was spun to 10000. I like the concept although pricey Worked extremely well on a set of Higgins Ford heads. htt...

Re: Stock Eliminator secrets?

Love the tech side of Stock and Super Stock and it definitely helped me learn a lot that applied to the heads up racing I'm currently involved with - but - (and probably going to get some heat for this) - you still have to use shoe polish and a "dial in" when in competition. I know about class recor...

Re: Stock Eliminator secrets?

Efficient drivetrain!

The NMRA Coyote Stock class is an example of efficient chassis.

Sealed engines, sealed tune, same weight, same fuel, 7700 RPM limited....

At 3100 pounds, they have run super low tens in average air.

Re: SBC intakes Holley 300-25 vs 300-2

Not sure tonight the difference in the two intakes but I can give you this much on the 300-25, back in the mid '80's we began welding in some "fins" and did a little porting and was able to pick up about 30 HP. We saw it on the dyno and some close customers who used it picked up 3-tenth's at the st...
