There is a 15 degree 403 at joes that needs assembled and a 12 degree 429 at my house that we could try this on if chad had any interest of doing so.

Re: LS3 Carbed build
Chad, thanks for the spreadsheet i just printed it off for closer look was there much of a power increase after 30 deg total timing looks like the fuel consumption # are close through the timing sweeps,at a guess this is what you like to see?? do the BSFC change if there is to much total ignition t...

Re: LS3 Carbed build
So what's next for project overflowz? I'm sure you feel the same but I think it would be nice to have a day of testing with the vacuum pump working the whole time and revisit cam position with the timing curve you develop from the last session. I would be also be interested to see another set of hea...

Re: 429 sbc ls build
when you put this back on the dyno; other than water pump what other changes are you going to try? I have quite a few things to check and fix. I wasn't happy with the epoxy in the entrance of the port or a step above the top cut of the intake valve. So I will initially be pouring another mold and r...

Re: 429 sbc ls build
Here are the dyno spreadsheets from the local stuska dyno and the superflow dyno at REC. If you have questions regarding the spreadsheet PM me directly. The names of the runs are based on what was changed beforehand. If it just a numerical value then that was a backup run. Ok, so Im going to assume...

Bump to an old tread. I finished this and competed at REC. Here are some progress pics. I will post the spreadsheets for dyno sessions in a little bit.

Re: Race Engine Challenge intake critique
Do you have a list of the final scoring? Based on this which is from the first page of this thread I see 2 engines with a lower score as of Wednesday. Stan You can piece the final scoring together if you wish but this is the final standings in order for the inline class. Tim Davis was in the canted...

Re: Richer AFR in higher gears
Maybe someone that's a little better with physics and weigh in. My assumption is the slower sweep rate of the engine gives the fuel more time to get in the cylinder. In lower gears you might experience 1000rpm/sec sweep where in you 1:1 gear might be something like 3-400/second. Weather it actual li...

Re: Richer AFR in higher gears
I noticed this very phenomenon 7-8 years ago when I started tuning cars. It happens with every fuel injected platform I have messed with (gm, Ford, and Chrysler) This is why I always tune them in the 1:1 (or close to) gear ratio. I haven’t put much thought into it but believe it to be load related.

Re: Race Engine Challenge intake critique
Not to be confrontational/////but you do realize that this engine was only 1 place from last place? It only outscored one engine there. A similar "old design" took second place in the inline class. Do you have a list of the final scoring? Based on this which is from the first page of this...

Re: before/after 383 dyno results
BSFC dont look bad, definitely no red flags just the typical higher rpm higher number that looks like it could all be jet related, what are the asterests after pull titles, number of pulls or side notes, you should talk him out of those 2"pipes, im sure hes happy either way. Tom Number it pull...
