I know this from experience. My 1966 GTO did not come with a recovery tank. So the cooling system had air in it with the engine running; not good, as airt is a poor conductor of heat. I added a recovery tank. Engine ran a little cooler. Not sure if it was because all the air was out of the system......

I do not have the answer & I doubt anybody will unless that exact combo has been tried by someone else. What I can tell you is what Crane cams said in one of their catalogs: a minimum change of 4 crank degrees is needed for the butt-meter to tell the difference; & 4* shifts the rpm range approx 200 ...

D. Vizard claims in his SBC book that he has tested well over 10,000 cam combinations in 40 yrs of cam testing. In another publication, he says the number 19,200 cams. LSA/LDA/LCA all refer to the same thing. I find it amusing that the DV bashers never give their dyno results or offer any proof that their cam selection method works any better. Is it just jealousy? This obsession with wider LSA on US made factory engines is not worldwide. The LSA of the production cams in the humble Morris Mini were on 107.5. Factory performance cams were on 102.5.

Not all cam companies grind 4* of adv into their cams. Crane used to use 5* with some of their grinds.

If you want to know how much advance the cam needs for best hp, you would need to do what DV does: put the engine on a dyno.

AVS Carter carbs used from 1968 -1971 on Chrys V8s had anti pullover acc pump nozzles. Not sure if the earlier AFBs had them.

The AFB carbs that had notched throttle plates were MUCH thicker than typical H blades. They were alum & about 0.100" thick.
