Re: horsepower vs front shock settings

is there a point when i'm going to find slowing down the front more and more just doesn't work? The simple answer is yes. First, inspect and/or disassemble the Caltrac stuff and see if the aluminum bushings need to be renewed and the slider bearings are free. Correct as needed. Since the rears are ...

Re: rich and lean O2's

NTK or Bosch O2 sensors? Do the O2 sensor modules (if present) have a calibration routine in free air? (Autometer/Stack wideband controller does, not sure about any others) If the same O2 difference is present after swapping O2s side to side, jet up the lean side and see what happens - mph will tell...

Re: Blown E85 EFI No Aftercooler

It's always been on E 85. It made 625 hp on a hub dyno with 1000cc Bosch injectors and a 525lph pump. This should be enough for the added fuel it will need. The two after coolers sat on top of the manifold runners and looked quite restrictive to flow. I'll add water/meth before the blower if necess...

Re: Blown E85 EFI No Aftercooler

Roots, Screw, or Centrifugal (Procharger, Vortech, ESS)? Roots style blowers like upstream fuel, like a plate under the hat. Screw blowers can also be run this way. Holley, Fueltech or Haltech systems can run a few injectors (or a whole set of '8) at a reduced fuel rate and let the ECM trim the fuel...

Re: GM Brake prop valve piston which way ?

The bottom pic in your post shows the valve/shuttle pointing backwards as the pintle sticks out the end of the valve body. One cutaway cutaway diagram two more cutaway versions 62-67 Nova cutaway If you use google, insert "before:2023" and then type in your search, you can get a lot of ima...

I don't know how a carb would deal with that variability in fuel.
Here are the specs for E85 in the US. It's blended in the tanker at the fuel depot/terminal. YMMV.

Re: Resonator placement

Sound bouncing off the ground from single wall exhaust pipes back up into the floor, rear of cab, and front of box can also be excited by the reflected sound to cause "drone." Even large glass windshields can get excited by pressure pulsations (exhaust) or structural vibrations (uninsulate...

Re: 496 Drag Test REDO.............

For the OP, here's a screenshot from an ET Predictor based on Pat Hale's Performance Racing Atmosphere calculations. (a modified version of SAE J1349) I believe Larry's program uses Pat's CF calculations. I also use some formulas off of epi-eng.com for water vapor calcs and such. The screenshot has ...

Re: Fuel flow restriction

What was the original engine in the truck?
What’s the fuel pressure at full load at 5600?
A 1/4” fuel line doesn’t usually feed a V8 with a redline over 4500rpm.

Re: Highest power exhaust for GSX-R750 L1 2011-2023?

Any opinions about how to best track the cooling system efficiency for the GSX-R750 engine? You need to know 3 fundamental quantities: A water pump map of flow vs RPM, (SAE-2004-32-0084 does have pump flow rate for a 600cc bike engine in an FSAE car, otherwise pull the pump off and drive it externa...

I don't think a gixxer 1000 is allowed in Extreme Kross Kart. The other two numbers for runs 128 and 130 are the 750. :)

Re: Bill Mitchell World Products Mopar 446 RB build

As long as you don't do silly things like clearance the rockers for valve retainer clearance you should be fine. I don't see that that block is main priority oiling. I'd install an oil pressure cut-off switch to minimize badness when a rocker lets go and the lifter leaves its hole. You're using rest...

Re: battery tech

A lot of drag cars, including my brother, use 16v batteries, whether AGM or LiFePo. AGMs in my experience, are not light, in fact they can be heavier than FLA batteries. Pick your poison in the link below.
