Re: Bolt Stretch on SCAT Connecting Rods
I just recently went through this myself putting together a 363ci windsor, used a forged Eagle rotating assembly with ARP 2000 7/16 rod bolts. I have found that the supplied literature's torque value of 75lb/ft only stretched the rod bolts .005in-.0055in. Now the rod bolt stretch spec on the suppli...

Re: Max lift with GM dogbone roller lifters
Neither the cam or lifters have been bought yet, just looking to see if I have to go to a tie bar style lifter. Its a Dart SHP block, so it's ready for the spider and dogbones which I would prefer. The base circle of the cam will be 1.05", and the most likely candidate for lifters would be the ...

Max lift with GM dogbone roller lifters
What is the maximum lobe lift that can be used on the dogbone style hyd roller lifters? I'm considering a cam with .395 lobe lift, OK with these lifters?

Re: Honing Piston Pin
I wanted to update this thread as I discovered the wall thickness of the Callies wrist pin bushing was not .032 wall as I had originally thought. The trouble is it is difficult to measure when pressed into the rod as it is nearly flush. After more attempts to measure it, it looked like the wrist pin...

Honing Piston Pin
I have a new set of Callies Ultra LS rods 6.200 length to match up with a set of 4.070 Mahle PowerPack pistons. I need the CH of 1.340 on the piston, so I'm stuck with a .945 wrist pin which is all that is available from Mahle in this size. The rods use a .927 diameter pin. I had hoped to hone the r...

Best head for a boosted SBC
SBC 407" Dart SHP block for twin turbo application. With a 75 cc chamber I'll be around 9.3 compression. Cam not selected yet, but will be a hydraulic roller. With this compression, I'm thinking an aluminum head would be best. Pistons are 4.155 dia Mahle 16 cc dish with SCAT 3.75 forged crank a...

Re: Iron Eagle Heads
Thanks for the replies and suggestions. I took the advice for SI Valves in CA, and they shipped me some nice looking valves from their Silver series race line for $10.50 each. They arrived next day and they look great. I'm taking the heads over to the shop today for concentricity and valve to guide ...

I could use some help setting up the cylinder heads for my 406 SBC. Dart SHP block, 3.75” stroke, 4.155 Mahle 16 cc dished pistons with a Lunati Voodoo 219/227 hyd roller cam. Zero decked. Lift at the valve is .515/.530 using 1.5 rockers. C/R is 10.4:1 Heads are Dart Iron Eagle 180 ports w/64 CC cha...

Re: Scat pro stock I beam strength?
Will the H beam 7/16" Scat rod fit in a SHP block using 3.75" stroke? Without a small base circle cam?
