Re: engine power estimates ATK/PROFILER 210cc 383 solid cam/video running
I am not really sure of your application with engine/ truck. I would forget about the air gap intake as there is a huge mismatch in CSA, one word of advice and this is only my opinion but I don't gasket match, I find the biggest port whether intake or exhaust and measure and size match the other po...

Wow that seems low . I have got that from much less head and cam .
What took it down ? I was estimating 500-525 .

Re: engine power estimates ATK/PROFILER 210cc 383 solid cam/video running
Also this was a budget build . Please critique my cam choice. Tried to make a street machine cam for c10 that actually makes some power . Couldn’t afford afford morels in hyd or solids .. went bullet edm solids..
Would you have made different combo ?

Re: engine power estimates ATK/PROFILER 210cc 383 solid cam/video running
Are these heads ported or as cast?? Valve job? heads are cast , really good port match and valve job . thats it . also wanted to add that i wired and relay'd up a set of contour fans in this truck and I don't think I will ever buy an aftermarket setup ever again. unless its for show. Can cruise the...

Re: Eldebrock Carbs
I have never seen an engine not pick up power going from an Edelbrock to a tuned 4150. I have no experience with Ava or whatever but I would need to see back to back dynos . I have seen many 1/2 second increases ditching Edelbrocks.. my only real world opinion

Re: What do you think of my Chevy 383 GenI Build?
Cool engine and combo you got there!!! I'll give my opinion To get rpm i would not go with the comp lifters. I would use morel's . 4602's would work. I think a dedicated cam person or even bullet could give your a better cam choice. I would proabably not favor the exhaust to try and carry rpm, i wou...

Re: Modern equivalent of my cam --
Go to bullet , under ultradyne lobes , look for NF , those are Harold's , should be latest ones . They are more aggressive than the older lobes and will need the spring to support it, lift is higher on NF grinds as well . I also like MA comp lobes , bout as aggressive as u wanna get without heavy sp...

Have to disagree with above post ... Though I don't have road race experience. Mid lift 90* has given me best geometry ...

And this was with initial pushrods , which were too short . 7.250 with morel 4602. Needed longer .
I use foxwell/straub method . Has worked on every motor I have built !
Just finished this 460bbc, flat solid , race-rite oval motor . Worked yet again .
