It's(hould be) common knowledge you never click on links in emails that ask to 'verify' your account.

Re: Blocked posting
Good to hear, but I haven't been able to change much.
Been looking for some additional admintools for the forum but did not find a good true IP whitelist option that can ignore the Spamhaus list.
Hope your username and ip stays working now.

Re: Blocked posting
The phpBB forumsoftware is checking IPs of all members during a new post against the Spamhaus database. This is ofcourse to fight and block possible spam-users that made it through the registration process successfully. If this function is turned off, it will most likely cause (more) spam-posts on t...

Re: Temperature Increase on Highway
A simple front spoiler sticking out from under the radiator-support might be all it needs. All modern cars don't have these things for nothing. It's about air(flow)control in and (especially) getting it out from the engine bay. I agree a fan might not always be needed when at speed, but if it helps ...

Watertemp.
The 160°F thermostat was in place and water temperature always was around 160°, after the oil change it didn't get above 140-145°F anymore.

Re: Engine Masters (MotorTrend) Tests Oil Viscosity
In a very unscientific test in my daily driven Dodge with a factory roller 318 in it I once went from regular 10w40 to 5w20 synthetic oil.
Besides only a slight drop in psi, I also noticed the engine ran 15°F cooler.
I translated this as lost friction inside the engine because of the thinner oil.

Re: Tagging Forum Memebers
At the moment it does not work. But there seems to be an extension available that could add a tag-function to the forum. In the past, when (some) extension isn't updated anymore by its author, it can lead to a forum going offline after a simple forum update for instance, incase the extension is not ...

Re: Why?
Most likely this is a 'forum-cookie' related issue on your computer/browser.
If you find yourself logged out again, click this link:
ucp.php?mode=delete_cookies
Quit your browser and try again.
Technically, it 'should' be fixed...

Re: Active topic link
The forum software just got an overdue update, and this removed some customizations. The Active topics link will be reinstalled again soon.
Thanks for noticing and reporting.
In the mean time this link can still be found under the 'Quick Links' dropdown menu.

Re: Rapidly moving vacuum gauge at idle - smooth above 1k
Older topic, but,
no obvious valvetrain noise present, but I can tell during driving when valve-lash is getting upto around .010".
I currently have the engine opened-up and will replace the iron heads for a pair of aluminium heads and will do a cam change as well. Going to a hydr. roller.

Re: Chrysler brake bell crank usage
Ok. I was thinking the bell crank in the engine bay that abled an offset booster. But that doesn't change much ofcourse.
If both arms of the bell crank are the same length then there's no leverage benefit.

Re: Drilled-Slotted Rotors & differential bore calipers
IMO I would think a hole chamfer would also need to be deep enough to be still present after the rotor has worn down a bit, otherwise it would develop sharp edges and promote cracking again.

Re: Chrysler brake bell crank usage
Chrysler didn't use bell cranks on their brakebooster setups in the (mid/late) '60s. Early Chryslers, with the separated booster and MC setups used a different underdash setup. You're probably talking about the smaller models from Dodge and Plymouth? My '73 Dodge Dart indeed has a bellcrank setup. M...

Re: overheating question
And how many timing advance at the raised rpm-level?
I would try to add more timing at idle, like around 24 orso as a test.

Re: Headings garbled.
There has been some preparation-work for some upgrades done on the server last night so that could explain the issues you were seeing.
