Re: Oil Pan "Pulse Separation Walls"

Years ago Kevin ( hello Kevin) built us a pretty trick piece for our BBC stock eliminator pan (6 qt)r that mounted off the main caps. Material was too light and it vibrated into the crank. No biggie, Kevin fixed that then I exploded it big time.... without the new parts. Fast forward to now, we have...

Re: Clevite HN bearings

Hello, I was just wondering what you guys thought of Clevite changing the design of the "H" bearings? I think they basically eliminated the champher and narrowed the bearing to compensate. Im not real sure I care for it. Thanks Jeff It's free power and it gets the oil out quicker, plus na...

The old TRW cams- TP118 and 147 ran really well. I'm looking for those specs.

Re: PCV vs EVAC

Chad, going to the pump right? Good time to manometer test. I think I would be scared to do only PCV system as in pressure in the higher rpm.
I think I would do PCV with breather - then pvc with Vacu-pan breathers -then just vacu-pan?
Or did I miss that in the threads?

Re: Shiny or black carb for heat

JMHO - Black and never look back! Easier to clean, always looks good. Heat does not seem to be an issue. We have two sets of QF black and two sets FST black.
For info... Phil @ FST is from QF, he does the design work for FST.

If it is not too late,,,,,Look into longer pitman arm, std id 5.200 - long is 5.800. Same with idler arm, moves link closer to the cross member. I just did this on my 69 Camaro.

Re: Big Block Chevy Windage control-was this a waste of time?

Nice work! There is a lot of loss in a stock style pan, anything you can do getting oil back to the sump without hitting the cam/crank is a gain!

Re: Electric motor vs. Gas engine

Begs the question, should the new EV be allowed to race in conventional bracket dial in programs ? I would think the EV would not be affected by weather input other than maybe battery temp and charge? Looking at the new Tesla platform my bet is the technology is far superior to conventional cars? Re: Oil level

Running level is key. I like the sight glass idea... but seeing it could be an issue. Is it below the tray with 4-6 quarts in the pan sitting at car stance? I would think if it says ; 5- 6 quart pan then the loss in motor plus filter is below 5-6 in the pan. I filled mine on the bench to see where 4...
