Re: Superflow vs jkm dual flow

The 399 they were on only had a 4.165 bore the porter who runs a very successful ss/b amx did it to help cylinder wall shrouding And he didn't think there would be alot of gain in changing it back I actually disagree with that I wouldve like to seen a 2.125 valve but sometimes I listen to the person...

Re: Superflow vs jkm dual flow

Just loses power. will rev out to 7 or above cleanly you can look that incremental and it 60fts like a mid 9 second car than after just gets slower

Re: Superflow vs jkm dual flow

Steve its actually not a stocker combo it's a 427 inch amc 4.205 x3.85. The heads were original ported for a smaller bore engine that was built for a local class that had a pretty small cc limit and that ended a couple years a ago. When it did we put the heads on this short block thats bigger 427 in...

Re: Superflow vs jkm dual flow

2.08 valve 90%throat 2.90 min csa. The other thing is I know what the combo ran before we had the additional work done and the porter flowed them before and after so I have the change.

Re: Superflow vs jkm dual flow

I was considering trying to find someone with a superflow nearby but I think I'll just put the heads back on the car and see how it runs

Superflow vs jkm dual flow

We had our heads reworked by the same, porter who did them the first time initially they were for a smaller engine with class limitations on volume. That class went away and we decide to have the heads opened up and move the push rods over and I've attached results, the porter says his flow bench a ...

Re: Rocker Arms: Steel vs Aluminium

i would be curious about differences in deflection between the 2 materials i was kinda surprised by the .024 deflection in our setup just looking at max lift with the actual valve springs installed vs theoretical or lift with the checker spring.

Re: Harold Brookshire lobes and intake centerline.

Thank you for all the info. Hopefully we can catch a decent day at the track before it gets really cold here in Oklahoma. Some of you have cleared up what our friend was telling us. He said the cam needed to be in at 101 and it wasn't just for lower rpm. Now reading about the no lash ramps this make...

Re: Big power N/A LS engine discussion

We have an engine builder friend who recently built an ls for a customer and yes it was a boosted application but he said the same thing the only way there cheap is if you pull one out of a junk yard stuff a cam in it and put boost to it until it blows then repeat. If you really build one there not ...

Re: First time out with new 412Reher Morrison looking for opinions

What do you shift at that converter seems a little tight for healthy small block i'd think you would want it looser, forgive me if i'm wrong on a glide but with 3 speeds you usually want with in about 800 rpm of your shift point and on your combo i would guess youd want a convert in the 6500rpm rang...
