Re: How is fuel distribution on a 460 4150 Victor intake?

Does doing this help these cylinders? Looks like need to run drivers side jets a little bigger.

How is fuel distribution on a 460 4150 Victor intake?

I did radiusing and removed floor middle ridge. Also going to lay back bottom half of front and rear divider 1/2 inch like Randy Malik said on one of his older post on a 4500 one if I read instructions right lol. Might make it a 4500 top since have dual bolt pattern throttle plate on around 975 cfm ...

Re: Anyone with max porting World SR. SBF 197cc Heads?

Ok, Sounds like best to try a tall rounded short turn and lay the inside pinch area more into the port and test, want airspeed right. Figured 300 cfm would be the norm. with smaller pinch around 2.20-2.25 Area

Anyone with max porting World SR. SBF 197cc Heads?

This is my third set, usually in the mid 280 range with stock valve job mildly ported. These I might do more but heard there is some thin spots in intake port. At 280 now and chambers needed work Bad around seats. Putting a 2.05 valve in so I can add more inner angles, pretty big for a 2.02 valve, g...

To put bigger valve in or not on 521 BBF?

Bought some Ferrea 6000 2.25 valves to put in my TFS STREETS. Best port flows 390 @ '750 lift and climbs to 416 @ 1 inch and sounds good. My buddy copied my port on another set of Streets and added 2.25 and flowed better down low with backcut also, but didnt gain as much at high lifts and was flatte...

Re: If I did nothing else but change the stroke of my crank...

I would be sure the piston skirts don't come out of cylinder excessively and have a piston designed for the exact stroke rod so it has the right Barrel on the skirt. On fords 4.5 strokers on some block/piston/rod combos there is alot of power being scrubbed away in IMHO.

Re: How would you do a 289w road race engine?

Boss Block and maybe destroked Boss Crank if needed, seen cranks go for cheap. Maybe a custom 750 double pumper with annulars in front. Custom cam might be a better Idea. As much lift as aloud and be user friendly. Always more work to heads, but max HP is not a Problem it looks. Just some thoughts m...

Re: SBF Pushrod pinch and which way to angle it?

What We found flowbenching was the port never really lost flow , just got real loud and slowly climbed up #s in lift. at .600 lift numbers where pretty steady even sounding terrible at 38 inches tested. Maybe something else is happening too like air flow getting in the way of new airflow? Numbers no...

Re: SBF Pushrod pinch and which way to angle it?

Thanks for all the help Steve, I got 7 more ports to play with. Have to wait tell my buddy has some free time and maybe get some more Flowbench time. Airspeed was at 350fps in front of S. R. so I wouldn't think its too fast and need to try again on Short turn. Will use emery roll this time. Thats ho...

Re: SBF Pushrod pinch and which way to angle it?

Thanks again Steve, I will study all what you said. These heads where ported in the 90s by a decent head porting shop. THey added 40 CFM to them but went turbenant at .530-540. I helped them 12 cfm, just only was left .750 of Short height turn to play with and nothing left to make short turn wider a...

Re: SBF Pushrod pinch and which way to angle it?

Can't help to think doing an assymetrical curve on a port side opening, on some heads, you could favor port aim to an advantage :?

SBF Pushrod pinch and which way to angle it?

I was in hurry when my friend was helping with his flow bench and opened pinch in a hurry. Inside wall was smooth and had the outside wall pinch flat but not angling to the other side right into the outer valve area. Couldn't this cause the short turn to go turbenant? Not much to work with on ST so ...

Re: 850XP body with thin shafts .120 N&S best on 750+ HP?

Was plan on going eventually E85 but lowering compression on build and back to Premium Fuel, sure hope it don't disappear , down to one place that sales it in town. I got friends helping to get it track once so trying to make it right, thanks
