Re: Looking for UltraDyne cam specs

I have an UltraDyne cam with a lot of circle track stuff I bought last year. It's a nice cam but it's on a 102° and I am not sure how well that's going to work in a bigger inch drag engine.

Re: SBC Dart 200 Platinum Iron Eagle heads

I bought a set of World 200 cc heads sbc. Then was told that the Dart platinum might be better. O well. I hope yours do great. :D After having several sets of Sportsman II heads the Darts are way better and need less porting and chamber work IMO. Will be interesting to see what difference in perfor...

Black or silver they all perform about the same for me.

Re: 2 piece sbc valve covers?

I have a pair of the proform ones which work good until the gasket between the two covers gets old then they leak. The gaskets seem to last about 5 years.

Re: SBC Dart 200 Platinum Iron Eagle heads

Hang onto em , i heard there may not be anymore Dart iron heads made That's the plan. Too them apart tonight and it looks like they are pretty nice except for a good valve job the way they are. Going to do that and test to see what the do on the bench before I decide if I need to do more. Most like...

SBC Dart 200 Platinum Iron Eagle heads

Last night I bought a decent set of Dart Platinum 200cc heads with 49cc chambers for a song and the Platinum heads look to need less work then my 215's did. The guy who ran them said he did not like these heads as they were too much compression and the heads just did not perform well. Got them home ...

Re: Shiny or black carb for heat

I would say a 750 would work great on the 383, FST's 850 is a little deceptive as it's a 750 main body with an 850 base plate but it worked pretty good on my 358 pump gas engine. Same as Quickfuel 850. Did the guys that started FST come from Quickfuel? Good advice to take note of venturi and thrott...

Re: Shiny or black carb for heat

Well if the black carb runs hotter then maybe it will atomize fuel better than the shiny ones.

Re: Annular boosters for a QF 750 DP

HQM hit it on the head. The 12 hole and 16 hole annular's are pretty much better all around although you lose a little air flow, due to their size. It's all about fuel curve, as you know. You can steady state on the dyno to make yourself feel better as much as you want, most applications are not st...

Re: Shiny or black carb for heat

I'm going to buy a new 750 double-pumper carb and probably from FST. They offer it in Black or shiny, I don't care cosmetically but I want the one which is less likely to percolate the fuel in summer. I have a different cfm carb that is shiny and it gives me fits every time its been on the car. The...

Re: Annular boosters for a QF 750 DP

I have run both down leg and annular and it all depends on booster signal for each to work but like others have said, A/D boosters work well on a street engine. Just look at Eddy now they just added them to their AVS2 carb.

Re: Edelbrock E-CNC 185 Heads

My 062 Vortec heads flowed about the same as the Eddy heads, Eddy's exhaust flow was a little bit better but my heads used 1.94 and 1.5 valve size and cost a lot less.

Re: What's a good CDI box value these days?

In 1989 at the track I ran a back to back test with and with out an MSD 6A. The results were amazing, the car ran the same time and MPH. The only thing I have noticed from a CDI box is cleaner plugs at low speeds.

Re: Annular boosters in an AFB ?

I ran the 800 AVS on my peanut port 461 back in 2019 and it was only a tenth and a half slower then my 850 Mighty Demon. Mph was down by 2 so with no tuning I thought that was not all that bad for an Eddy carb.
