Re: Compression

will a leaded 110 octane fuel be enough for those kind of ratios or is that methanol territory?

Re: run-in AFR

speedtalk really needs a "like" button in other peoples posts that one can click.

the icon could appear as a trophy, a thumbs up, a fistbump, or a checkmark icon.

Re: Sealers and thread lockers for final assembly

loctite calls it an inactive surface. look into their primer N and primer T (just now saw the T) "Significantly speed up the cure time of LOCTITE® threadlockers when assembling metal parts that are cold, have large gaps or deep threads. When assembling metal parts with inactive surfaces, LOCTITE® pr...

Re: 14k rpm 0 deck

according to a compression ratio calculator i'm using, I am now at 15:8:1 compression ratio up from 13:2:1.

did not realize ripping .030" off the base of the cylinder would result in such a bump :P

run-in AFR

to those who frequently run engines in on the dyno with a wideband o2 sensor in the exhaust, how rich would you say is bore wash territory? I have a number in mind, but i'm not sure If i'm being overly cautious (anything richer than low 13's with no load on the engine should be shut down) am I far o...

So your for some unknown reason counting on race fuel to keep cylinder / combustion / Exh temps in check?

nah man, going to run it on 87 octane pump gas then run it hard in deep sand and see what she tells me.

Re: single compression ring piston

hi knight. the a15 uses a heavy dished "bathtub" style piston top.

the ga16de pistons Im using have a smooth even concentric dish to them.

Im going to wing it guy and keep my fingers crossed, but your thinking at lower RPM's that one ring isn't going to cut it huh?
