Re: Fe torque plate
Thanks for the quick reply. Who knows what happened? He hasn't signed in here since January 28th. $299 at Summit or on e-bay for aluminum. I wonder if there is actually a measurable difference between using a different material. Seems like in a room temperature situation the head bolts should still ...

Re: Fe torque plate
HI,
I am also looking for an FE torque plate. Lance did you pick up these torque plates from Throttleman? If not, are these still available? Or does anyone else know of an FE torque plate that is available? Needs to be an iron BHJ.
thanks,
Mark

Re: 351w valve seats
Last night I measure the center of the original seat to the deck surface using Goodson's pointer with the indicator over the guide pilot. The original seat was .020 higher than the ones I cut. Then I tig welded a washer in the seat, slid a nut that fits my slide hammer up through the exhaust port an...

Re: 351w valve seats
Yes, it sounds like a necessary "tool" for automotive machining. As a transmission shop I have multiple tech resources for transmission information. I'm looking forward to the tech books they send out with the membership.

Re: 351w valve seats
Hi BIll,
I'm considering AERA. Other than resurfacing heads for local shops, I only do engine rebuilding for myself. There might not be much use of the services for me. Although the spec manuals that come with joining looks to be well worth the price. ……..I just joined.

Re: 351w valve seats
There are new Ferrera valves going in. The exhaust valves are 1.55 diameter and the intake are 1.94. The more I think about it, I believe I am going to have to pull the seats and start over. I don't know, but I feel like the seat is as low as it should be...or any lower would be too low. Then again,...

351w valve seats
Hey guys, I'm back to fooling around with my seat and guide machine. I'm working with a 351w with a set of C9 heads. I put guides and hardened exhaust seats in one head. I wasn't planning to do the seats. But, as I started to cut a 3 angle seat I realized the 60 degree angle wasn't touching as the c...

Re: WTB: New3Acut driver
I would like the hex style driven tool holder like what is pictured above. The blade holding forks are pretty standardized. I've gotten Goodson and an aftermarket on e-bay that fit the above tool holder.
thanks,
Mark

WTB: New3Acut driver
Hi, Looking to see if anyone has any HH375 tool holders. I talked to New3Acut and he said they don't make any of the serdi style tooling anymore. I'm set up with this hex drive style. Depending on what's out there it might be cheaper to add to this than converting over to the ball-driver style. I'd ...

.013 - .027. Excellent, I think the tightest on mine is .017 after the surfacing.

Ford Diesel 6.0 Head Re-surface
Hey guys, Today I resurfaced a set of Ford diesel 6.0 heads. One head needed about .006 to clean up. I've heard .006 is the limit for removal. Is there a measurement spec out there for the head-deck surface to valve face clearance? I'd feel more confident if I could take that measurement. thanks, Ma...

Re: WTB: Van Norman CRW Valve Grinder
Hey guys,
Thanks for the replies. I've decided I am specifically looking for a Van Norman CRW valve grinder. I'm sure a Sioux, Snap-On or Black and Decker would work fine for what I want to do, I just prefer the VN.
thank you,
Mark

WTB: Van Norman CRW Valve Grinder
Looking for an older, but in decent shape valve grinder. Needs to be complete. I like the size range of the Van Norman CRW. Anyone have one of these collecting dust?

A while back I did find a couple cores with this part number. So I am all set. Thanks to anyone that took a look for me.
