Longevity of flat plane crank engine?

Someone brought this up over at the corvette place. What are you opinions on the longevity of a flat plane crank engine as a daily driver and if tracked?

Thanks -Jim

Are there any common parts like blocks, heads etc and then each manufacturer builds/assembles tunes? I tried googling for pics to compare things like valve cover bolt ...

Would you buy a Holley 4175 converted from 4160 to 4150?

As the title states... I've been looking for a 4175 (spreadbore VS electric choke) and have been offered one that was converted to 4150 style with the rear metering block. Its for a relatively basic 350/350 SBC. Stay away or go for it? $350... I have no desire in changing the manifold to a square bo...

Re: Pro Stock What If - Carb/EFI

You need to follow WEC/ALMS/LeMans for any innovation and that’s where the factories are really trying some cool stuff. MotoGP and F1 are still pretty loose as well and the factories are doing cool stuff there. For top level, most open rules, naturally aspirated, then MotoGP is your ticket. They’re...

Question for non pro airflow guys, Why the large cut on the inside radius of a turn?
Changes pressure. Pressure changes = flow/velocity change. That cut will allow you to control location of the flow downstream.

Drop downs are really cool. I saved the file then opened it with Works. The online version of excell works well.

Re: Header Theory by Vince Roman from Burns @ PRI

This is a pic I lifted from another site. Its a 180 degree C6 Corvette piece. IIRC the owner/welder strived for equal length tubes. Seems like the owner/welder should've sacrificed equal length for smoother bends?

Re: Header Theory by Vince Roman from Burns @ PRI

Calvin, you've mentioned a preference for 4-2-1 headers below a certain rpm. Are your 4-2-1 headers the same as 'tri Y'? Can you talk about the differences between a Tri-Y and 4-2-1 systems? I understand not wanting 90 degree firing cylinders going into the same 'Y'.
