Crane Cams site apparently hacked

I've been trying all day to access their website and keep getting an error message. Then a Google search reveals this: https://www.google.com/search?q=crane+cams&rlz=1C1JZAP_enUS786US786&oq=crane&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0j69i60l3j0.12035j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Damn shame. Let's ...

Re: Is it weird for a 70 yr old man...

As for me, I'm 65. Well, I want them to be biologically female before I refer to them as either women or girls, but I think "girls" implies that they're not mature and, hence, likely off-limits for a 70 year old. Therefore, IMO this guy undoubtedly qualifies as a dirty old man, at the very...

Re: Best IC engine books ??

And if you like math also, how about a book dedicated to engine math? I've only read parts of it, but it gives good explanations.

Performance Automotive Engine Math, by John Baechtel.

I'm buying it, anyway.

Re: Best IC engine books ??

"Internal Combustion Engine Fundamentals" by Heywood is a commonly referenced engineering textbook. It's not necessarily oriented at high-performance engines ... but the physics is all the same. And instead of forking over $110 to $174 for a hard copy, you can download it here: https://en...

Re: Camming a 10.3 to 1 350

Post your selection of a cam for a aluminum headed 350 with a 180 intake runner and that has 10.3 to 1 compression. Car is a street car with a 4 speed and 4:10 gears. Nice cruiser. Hoping for 430 horse out of a roller set up. Give me the following and I will run this through Torque Master. Bore:- S...

Re: Ford FE combo

This will be a 4.08" x 3.98" combo using block and crank I have on hand, block is already .030" and will get a fresh hone just to clean up . Crank will be internally balanced. ] So basically what you have is a 0.030-over 410 cid engine which were optional in the big '66-'67 Mercury-o...

Re: Using Blair to spec a Cam

I then picked out a target BMEP (corresponding with a HP value at some rpm (7200)). I'm just a rank student, and maybe not the best one (for example, I never bring apples for the teachers), but I do have one question: This would also be saying that you therefore have a target value for torque, righ...

Re: Chrysler and NASCAR and Pro-stock

That story rings a bell with me, but that about as far as I can go with remembering it. But, as of last year (2017),apparently NASCAR is allowing the aluminum third generation Mopar hemi engines to compete with those pesky GM LS powerplants. Here's more about that: https://www.allpar.com/racing/NASC...

Re: power difference between different brand cams

So, it wasn't to exciting, the Erson cam made for all practical purposes, the same exact power. One other thing, when we dynode it last, we dumped the break in oil, and tried Shafer synthetic 5-50, he swears by the stuff, runs it in everything. It made more power, we didn't do that this time, and i...

Re: power difference between different brand cams

My guess: Based on what I've learned, there isn't supposed to be a difference in power, all other things being equal. Unless one has magic fairy dust, of course. :D
