Re: SBC fuel pump recommendation
I have a 355 with a decent hydraulic roller, 3500 converter and 3.89 rear gear.. I run the Edelbrock Performer mechanical pump with stock fuel line from the tank and 6AN fittings, line and filter to the carb. Turns 6500 and never misses a beat. I wanted a mechanical for simplicity

Re: 434 SBC Clearance Issues.
Has many used the Mowtown block vs the little M for their 434 build? Curious how machining varies between the 2.

Re: 434 SBC Clearance Issues.
Those also have an Ulta XD price tag. I know this stuff doesn't come cheap . Anyone know if an Oliver rod would have the required cam clearance? They are a Tad less expensive.

Re: 434 SBC Clearance Issues.
If I went to the 3.875 crankshaft would the run of the mill H Beam rod most likely work?

Re: Cylinder head volume
This was mostly a generic question. Horsepower goal would be 575ish at 6000 to 6400 rpm.
I currently have a 355, ported sportsman 2 heads, rpm air gap, 10.3 compression with a
.520 / .540 236 / .242 hydraulic roller. Runs strong and can drive anywhere.

Re: Cylinder head volume
What I am asking is it better to have a 10.5 compression engine with 64cc cylinder head or a 10.5 compression engine with a 72cc cylinder head.

Re: Cylinder head volume
I have no particular cylinder head in mind. Can it be just a 64 vs 72 cc comparison or does everything else have to factor in?

Re: 383 vs 415 Small Block Chevy
The converter is a Non Lockup. The car drives great in its current combination.
