Back in the early 90's did engines and fab work for a Trans Am road race team. The team had left Ohio in late winter to do some tire testing in late winter for Hoosier (they were on a Hoosier deal) in Atlanta GA. When they came back with all these new compound tires they were called and told when un...

The Meta-Lax process: http://www.meta-lax.com/?gclid=CJK9sYKkwJMCFRQYsgodWROVBw is claimed to do the job without the need to run your block around the world 4 times under the hood of a school bus. I had my forty year old ZL1 BBC heads done recently after a ton of seat and porting work, but haven't ...

You may want to offset the intake lifter bores to help the pushrods clear the intake runners on that short of deck. More than likely you will be in the bottom corner of the port. That was my expierance with the D heads not sure if it would come into play with the C heads. Something else to think abo...

Dave Koehler and Shumarc have defintley been there, as I have also. You can't add more radius than what was there... but we always tried. Also when you would get some Chrysler and Buick cranks that had the rolled fillets from the factory complaining that you didnt put any radius on the crank! OKAY?....

Dont want to hi jack this thread........But why does RW TECH suggest the second ring should be .010-.012 larger? Doesnt say why. Built quite of few land and sea 540's Never tried the larger 2nd ring end gap. Never any signs of carbon/fuel past the top ring. No sign of butting and below the the top r...

Food for thought, Years ago didnt Champion Spark Plugs in their tech/plug book claim that their plug was better than others due to the technolgy of fragmented spark? Fragmented spark ( I think that was the correct term they used.....Bill Jones might correct me ) The claim was that with enough spark ...

Orfice? What if you took that and applied it to a balloon? Yes it might expand quicker without a restriction inline. I set my twin Guage at 100 psi and then read the numbers on the other one to get my percentage so I dont have to do the math. Yes I will at times open a valve or disconnect the tester...

hARDCORE is spot on. The intake guides on those heads are surrounded by water and are stepped. The guide OD are smaller on the combustion side than on the spring side. So if you replace the the whole guide .... drive it from the combustion side toward the V/C . You could possibly use liners to step ...
