Re: Anyone been able to reach Isky Cams lately?

Tartilla, very well written and thought out in my opinion.
If more business owners and customers could agree to operate as you discribed, what a great and profitable relationship for the business and what a satisfying experience for the customer.
A win for all involved.

Re: My CompCams Cam Card ECL Question

The more I think about it Tuner, you may be right.
Somebody probably pulling somebody's chain or they have a degree wheel that has a diameter bigger than would fit in any of our shops😂😳

Re: My CompCams Cam Card ECL Question

What you are interpreting as a "discrepancy" I would interpret as excellent quality control and probably have some doubt about its accuracy until I put a degree wheel on it. That would require a very large diameter wheel that is extremely accurately marked to be able to read that close, al...

Re: Anyone been able to reach Isky Cams lately?

Many of us old school guys are "no phone number, no business. I also respect the business owners wishes, if they only communicate through e-mails, OK by me, I am still able to accomplish what I want to do with business owners who still have customer service and a phone number. I know the world ...

Re: Rough Combustion

Roundybout, fantastic comments and observations. I believe also, that it seems any abnormal burn is a loser, but how close to the onset of detonation is an engine running when it is running at its most effiecent and powerful tune? The cycle to cycle variations also seem to be a killer in so many way...

Re: Rough Combustion

Warp, I am assuming, optimal range means most power in your line of work, but are there ever some outliers on a particular cycle that exhibit some form of abnormal burn that can produce equal or even better power than the normal expected cycle? Or is it always a power loser with any abnormal type of...

In the diesel world, low cranking compression means hard starting or no starting, in the gasoline world it tends to make people feel good.

Re: Rough Combustion

Appreciate the thoughts there barnym 17, yeah, just curiosity on my part contemplating the various degrees of detonation. Am still curious of what percentage of the end gas remaining that it takes to evolve into detonation before we are able to actually hear it? Would 10% remaining end gas detonatin...

"Your eyes don't necessarily decide what make power"
I believe that statement to be a true axiom, airflow does not seem to be concerned with appearing intuitive.

Re: Rough Combustion

Don't know if it could be defined as "measured", but maybe the term detected would fit. A knock sensor of some type seems to be the equipment detecting this abnormal combustion. The phenomenon I am referring to as rough combustion or rumble as some call it, seems to define detonation on a ...

Rough Combustion

Anybody want to share some thoughts about rough combustion or "Rumble" as sometimes referred to. I have always assumed normal detonation was the auto ingnition of all of the end gas remaining once detonation started in that specific combustion event, but could rough combustion events actua...
