They’re not much fun moving around in the shop from bench to bench though. 8)

Re: Dyno tuned 434 SBC 11:1 AFR 245 Solid Roller

Scott I think your car is awesome so please don't take this the wrong way, hp to car weight says you are 100hp off. So far, I’m basically on that same train of thought. I use the Moroso PS calculator to get a feel for what I think the performance should be. With the dyno I use, the better running c...

Well, that’s more duration than what will be used with the ones I did...... so it should be good.

Re: Question for the BBF guys......

What were the cam specs you ran with those heads?

The B3V BD is the CJ-HP head.

In theory, with a 2.30/1.72 valve combo you’d have had about .030-.035” seated valve-to-valve clearance.......depending on how deep the seats were cut and how thick the valve margins are.

Has the car been scaled since the engine swap?

It’ll get a little heavier with the hood on it, yes?

Re: Aluminum vs iron heads on a 9:1 daily driver

The basic combo outlined in the OP seems like it would be served just fine by some slightly reworked factory heads.

It would come down to cost for me.
Whatever the best bang for the buck is that fits the application.

Re: Question for the BBF guys......

Eliminator offers three varieties of this head.

This “BD” version has normal CJ intake ports, and the exhaust uses std Ford headers.

The overall height of the head is quite tall, and they use pretty long valves, which seems to be more for the version with the raised A460 style ports.

Re: Question about the stock 1970 426 Hemi hyd. lifters?

Have you indicated across the lobe to see how much taper it has? I usually check it on the base circle. FWIW, which isn’t much........ in 42 years of messing with Mopars....... I’ve never seen a mention of the Hemi having a low taper cam & lifters. I’ve measured quite a few stock and stock replacemt...

Nice job!!

It hangs on up top quite well with as short as the intake lobe is.

Re: Engine Diagnosis

Any gas smell in the oil?

I’m also on board with trying another “known good” carb, and/or ignition.

Anyone checked the voltage at the ignition?

Re: Question for the BBF guys......

Just a little follow up with these...... I ended up cutting the valves down to 2.23/1.73. The seats had already been machined for the 2.25/1.76, so a little sinking was required to accommodate the smaller valves. In the end the seated valve to valve clearance ended up at .060”-.065” with the heads a...

Re: Anyone know anything about these heads?

HQM...... do the intake floors and short turns seem kinda flat for an aftermarket performance head?

I haven’t had any of those in my hands in quite a few years, but for some reason that’s how I remember them.
