Re: battery tech
Why not get 2 smaller batteries and charge one while running the other . Just keep swapping them .

Re: Chevy 327 Tunnel Ram Idling To Fast When Started
I brought my 1927 Ford Model T Hotrod to Danbury Competition Engines in Danbury CT after installing a Tunnel Ram on the motor, only to encounter stalling issues whenever I put it in gear. Jeff Roell, their mechanic, immediately diagnosed the problem even before laying eyes on the car, showcasing th...

Re: Mazda G6 2.6
I have been researching a few Aussie headers but the stock manifold really doesn’t look that bad as far as flow . Of course it probably provides little scavenging. What do you think the air feed to one of intake valves is ? Emissions or Economy ? The gaping hole right below the short turn can’t be g...

Mazda G6 2.6
I picked up a 93 Mazda B2600i last year and decided to build/restore it for a driver . I am rebuilding the engine and would like to enhance the power a little for better driveability and mpg if possible . The stock 129 hp is a bit anemic….any increase would be welcome ! Lol This is a 3 valve head en...

Re: What Happened to Edelbrock's new VRS-4150 Carburetor?
Vic Edelbrock Sr, and Jr, are both rolling over in their graves. When they ran Edelbrock, rule #1 was, "never promote a new product, before you can sell it". Jr had a business degree from USC, and knew that when you show the public a new shiny thing, they will want it right away, and if t...

Re: Pro systems carburetor
I am running a Venom VX on my 408 Mopar. Only complaints are that the secondaries stick open and wont seat back onto the idle stop. I also wish it had replaceable power valve restrictors ... maybe they do now as mine is about 4 years old. Speaking of 4150s ... whats up with the new Edelbrock ? Are t...

Re: 440 motorhome build- 30 degree intake seat?
If you want torque... I just happen to have, (2) new 4.5" cranks. One is Molnar, 8 bolt and one is 440 Source?/ 6 bolt. I will never need them. Art. How would that long stroke work in a heavy load /high heat application that might run for 8hrs constant ? What would be the pitfalls?

Re: Oil Filter Filtration and Flow Testing per ISO 4548-12
I had one come apart and the resulting crap plugged the regulating valve. This is after years of saying the internet was over reacting on Fram and still buying them. It will take a fair amount to recover from that experience and regain confidence. I worked for a Dodge dealer when the Cummins first ...

Re: Best 70’s vintage SBC build.
The OP is getting much the same answers as the 'other' thread that were apparently upsetting. The 'other' thread's parameters were period correct 70's factory/modified parts for 600hp and 11sec in a 1977 camaro. I'll say no more. NOBODY has said 600hp. 450 isnt even close to 600. This thread isnt a...

Re: 440 motorhome build- 30 degree intake seat?
Whatever the outcome please let us know how it performs . I plan on building up the 440 in my 78 Fireball C-Class and am trying to learn how to accomplish optimal torque / rpms / heat dissapation / mpg etc . ( without going deisel)... Should I stroke it ? What cam ? Alloy Heads ? Compression ratio ?...

Re: Chamber Mods vs Material Volume Removed Question
I watched that video the other day .
I couldnt figure out if he was recommending to smmoth out the step on both the intake and exhaust or just the intake.
I have a set of heads that have about a .040 step on the exhaust seat and when I mentioned it to the porter he said to leave it alone .

Re: Any downsides to anti reversion mufflers/devices?
Ktm and Husky 450s. Possibly others but I ride a 2-Stroke and don't keep up on all the new model 4-Strokes . Actually I spend more time researching old Maicos like my 490 Alpha 1. I can tell you I see those power bulges on most 4-Strokes I see on the track or trail. Brief search indicates that it i...
