I use valve sizes based on bore size and set the CSA specific to my target peak HP/RPM spot. I’ve never heard of average csa. It’s pretty exact. Depending on what the engine is supposed to do I shoot for 600-640fps limiting port velocity. Check out Wallace racing calculators. Of the engines I build ...

I can see the BSA being difficult

With the Triumphs i think I can make the pushrod tube longer forcing the oil to have to fill the rocker first

I’m working on a Triumph motorcycle engine and was hoping to refresh my memory on the logistics of this idea.

My searching came up with nothing. Anyone know where the inf is?
