Good Evening, A friend is selling a set of brand new Edelbrock 60859 heads that are still in the box for $1000. I have an 1988 K2500 pickup. I don't live in a smog area. I had considered picking these up for a future head swap on my truck. I can't find much information on these by searching and that...

Re: Fixture & Methods for measuring pushrod for offset rockers. Exc

Good evening, NewbVetteGuy: I forgot to thank you for your reply in my last post. I appreciate your input and I am going to nail down an adjustable guideplate solution and weigh this against the shaft mount rocker combination. Ken Parkman: I appreciate your detailed posts in response to my questions...

Re: Fixture & Methods for measuring pushrod for offset rockers. Exc

Good Evening, Propower: How do you choose to measure the pushrod for offset rockers or to make sure the pushrods are going straight up and down during the lift cycle from the point of view we speak of? Do you also base your measurment from the valve cover gasket mating surface of the head? Danobee: ...

Fixture & Methods for measuring pushrod for offset rockers. Exc

Good Afternoon, I have been thinking for a while now about how to accurately measure how "straight" a pushrod is in relation to its two mechanical connection points - the lifter pushrod pocket centerline and rocker arm pushrod pocket centerline. Does the pushrod stay on the same plane throughout the...

Re: Sbc leakdown test reveals leak to ARP studs threads

Rustbucket: The previous owner ran the engine on 110 octane. I bought this complete car to use parts and the engine in another vehicle I have. I decided to do a cold cranking compression test to try and get an idea of the fuel resilience of the engine to see if I could carefully make it run on 91 fr...

I am the person taking this engine apart and carefully combing through another's work and parts choice to revive this engine for my own use. Rust bucket: Thank you for mentioning the guideplates. Good Evening,

Curious as to what you guys have to say about this odd roller rocker "Gouging". This wear pattern is on most rockers and i have shown photographs of both open and closed valves for roller to valve tip geometry reference.. Any input welcome!

Re: Second gen Nova sbc header recommendation

Thank you guys for the recommendations. I think I may go with the Schoenfeld Drag Street Class Headers 115V-3 buy a flange and collector combo and weld o2 bungs by the collectors and EGT probe bungs on the primarys. Has anyone ran this header before? It's a 1 5/8" primary to 1 3/4" then to 3". I cal...
