Re: Spindle Thread Repair
I have the snap on version of that set, it doesn’t get used a lot but when it’s needed it’s excellent. Does those old ones and many of the newer fwd axles.

Re: Boro Scope?
I had a snap on one lasted decent but the lead went bad, replacement cost was nearly cost of new unit. I bought another one on Amazon was approx 125-150 back then, it’s been good for probably 3 years. Get one with two cameras, the end and the side. There are some options that attach to phone but I h...

I would think they would tend to cup with the lightening that’s been done. FEA would need to be done I think to verify the rigidity.

Re: direct injection gas engine intake port deposit build up
The VW suffer badly from this, many install catch cans. I know adding catch can is common in the ecoboost world but mostly to minimize knock from oil in the combustion chamber. I’ve seen many of the 2.0 vw so plugged up there was hardly enough space for a pencil to go through the port.

Re: Electronic ignition on the flywheel
Porsche used set screws in the flywheel to trigger the ignition, had a bracket that bolted to hole in bellhousing that was located with a dowel pin. System worked well, especially for what was available back then.

Re: Running terrible, limited codes
How’s fuel pressure and fuel trims? Sounds lean to me just given your observations. 02 spacers help eliminate catalyst codes but won’t typically affect driveability as downstream 02 only monitor catalyst on those engines. High positive fuel trims indicate lean condition, over 10-12% is an issue alth...

Powerstroke 6.4/maxxforce 7 question
Does anyone know the bore spacing on one of these blocks? Not finding anything other than bore/stroke etc on google. Thanks!

Re: Loud Exhaust
I may be wrong but personally I’ve felt that bigger tube has a mellow or deeper tone than the smaller pipes. Headers shouldn’t make it any louder at the back, especially shorties I dont think. I agree with the H or X smoothing it out though. Quick question, do you wear hearing aids? Had a customer c...

Re: FI-tech TB-injection on a 200 Hp engine?
I’ve used them on larger engines with success, they’re self learning on the fuel trims so I don’t see why it wouldn’t work, you input cubic inches etc so it has a baseline of sorts. They’re not the best with large cams though, struggled a bit with idle.

Re: Rear mounted turbo's?
I’ve been told sizing the turbos can be a bit tricky as well, but I know there are some good running setups out there. It is somewhat self intercooled due to length of piping as stated. Boost controller plumbing would be fairly long, don’t know how much that would effect control over said system.
