Re: New old stock diesel inj. pump

Harkens back when Ak Miller put a 3L. Mercedes, mechanical gas pump on a 300" Ford/6.

Re: Caster Question

C5 Corvettes move lbj, forward in squash. upper reward = roll castor gain. By inverting a composite, quarter elliptic mono-leaf springs and using as
upper leading links on straight front axle, roll caster gain, is the plan.

New old stock diesel inj. pump

Try not to ridicule... Could this be used for E85 ? Yes, not as advanced as with diesel ? Drive it with a cam phaser ?
Thanks, Art.

I don't intend to "Don Quiote" on this but will proceed on what I learned at Chaffee College and life experiences.

Re: Mating Two V8's, ( Freight Train) vs. Harmonics

Structurally, 1 oil pan, ( pan on girdle). I prefer one wet pump, but how to equalize for both sumps ? If not balanced, one sump could cavitate ? Timing cover on rear motor has no water pump, ( ports are blocked). Cover is modded as needed for dual dist's + 1-2 pump oil pump sections. Full baffle be...

Re: Mating Two V8's, ( Freight Train) vs. Harmonics

Usage: Street roadster only. Hence 500hp. +/-. Well controlled, shallow wet-sump seems better suited. No need for 30 gal./min. in a non-aerated, wet sump. I'm think more like (2) OEM gerotor pumps on a common drive. Dry sump tank or (1) + gravity-fed accusump(s), as needed. Onward, Art.

Re: Composite Quarter Elliptic Springs

V16 street roadster, about 1,600 lbs. Front springs and lower radius rods in urethane or heims. Yes, limited amount of roll caster gain,
( bushing compliance). Fixed end of inverted spring mounted on top of frame/engine girdle. Curved upper clamp to provide rising rate.

Re: Mating Two V8's, ( Freight Train) got oil ?

So I talked to Peterson "tech" at length. Explained put-put application. All I need is 4-5 scavenge sections , a 10 gallon separator tank and 30 gal./min. flow at 4,400 rpm. Whoa be unto me. All because dry sump mixture looks like chocolate milk. " Somehow" I shall devise a shall...

Composite Quarter Elliptic Springs

Is currently semi, still easy to rate test first 1/2" of compression. Divide by 2 for new rate ? Inverted to create more " roll caster gain" as upper link to straight axle. May use a curved upper clamp on fixed end,( rising rate). Near clamp points, attach anti roll bar, as need. Thou...

Re: Mating Two V8's, ( Freight Train) vs. Harmonics

To a finer point, where to find output spec's for a Petersen/etc. dry sump pump. Gerotor, perhaps a 1.375 wide stage ?

Re: 5/64 rings - 60/40 valve split heads

5/64 = too much drag/tension ? How about lightening and reducing tension ? How about a skilled design, groove on the back side ?

Re: Mating Two V8's, ( Freight Train) vs. Harmonics

How much oil- really ? Two small (4L.) v8's, low hp., 2.8" stroke,6k. max rpm. I'm being told 1 pressure stage of a gerotor dry-sump pump will not work, even at crank speed, 28 bearings. Suggestions ? Thanks, Art.

Re: Mating Two V8's, ( Freight Train) vs. Harmonics

Using a dragster, twin-plug set-up. Two distributors on a common drive. Idea is somewhat old-school look, with some smarts added. Rocker cover, spanning both engines, will be stress mounted, each side. Anyone have a good drive ratio, crank to dry-sump pump ? Thanks, Art.

Mating Two V8's, ( Freight Train) vs. Harmonics

4L. Rovers, maybe 250 hp. ea. Snout of rear engine is splined and is plugged directly into rear of front crank. Indexed for firing at every 45 deg. Harmonics should be "nodal" at this location ? Plan to use 2" and 2.3" journals on front crank and 2.188"/ 2.5" on rear cr...
