Starrett® NO. 199 MASTER PRECISION LEVEL

Last laboratory calibration was late 2020, has not been used since. Unfortunately do not have the calibration report, it was kept on company intranet tied to it's asset number in aimes, that plants assets were zeroed out, any assets transferred had to have new calibration report and asset number. Wa...

Re: Melling SharkTooth Oil Pumps and High Pressures: Is this a problem?

OP newbievetteguy In your post elsewhere, It seems you're seeking 1:1 alum sbc pulleys. speedway motors and other circle track suppliers have aluminum sbc crank-water pump pulley sets that are 1:1 ratio https://www.speedwaymotors.com/SBC-Aluminum-Pulley-Set-1-Groove-Upper-2-Groove-Lower-Short-Pump,...

Re: egr tube repair

Do you have a picture of the part ? I have a complete 2000 engine in my next door unit that might have it on it. I am going to be using the long block for a marine build so I wont need that part. it connects to the driver's side manifold and runs to the intake, right behind the egr valve. Ideally b...

Re: egr tube repair

Do you have to pass an emissions test? no, but im trying to do this engine swap with stock ecu, and was hoping to avoid having to pay hp tuners credit and patch cable price just to disable it. and its just a truck that will be used for some towing, so id like to not make the 12-13 mpg any worse tha...

egr tube repair

Figure if anyone would know it would be you guys. I have a broken egr tube on a 96-00 L29 454 gen VI BBC. gm discontinued the part over a decade ago, used tubes sell for 350-454 on ebay. I looked at it and the fitting on the manifold and intake is just a -12 jic with 3/4" opening. have any of you ev...

Re: Gen VI BBC oil filter adapter

So run it without a filter bypass? This is just going to be a hop around backup vehicle, and I live in Michigan, I am ok not running a bypass as long as it doesn't require extended warm up times. I'm not changing anything with the tune. Swapping the ECU and wiring harness from the 2000 it's a direct...

Re: Gen VI BBC oil filter adapter

That looks like the right one. The bypass is built into the block. Why not have your local dealer look up the part number for the truck you are working on just to be sure ? Removed from a 2000 GMC k3500 over 8600 gvwr truck, installing in a 97 c1500 chassis, gm never put a big block in the 96-2000 ...

Gen VI BBC oil filter adapter

Engine is from k3500 chassis and has the sideways filter Mount. I need old style vertical filter Mount to fit the gmt400 c1500 chassis & getting conflicting info. Can anyone confirm 3853870 is all I need to run a standard 51061 filter on it?

90-94 454ss truck

Doing a vortec 454 swap into a 97 c1500. Was hoping you would know if any Camaro Chevelle etc headers will fit the 454ss trucks. The shorty available for the application leave a lot to be desired. Ideally a 1-7/8 primary with a 3" collector and some good primary length

Re: LS Chevy Hydraulic roller lifters feedback

Mike, do you sell the know good GM lifter? I recently had to purchase a set, this is the best retail price I found for a guaranteed authentic set of gm 12499225 lifters. Quite a bit lower than summit, jegs, speedway or lane/midstates charges. Not trying to plug the guy, just a really good price. Lo...

Re: SBC lifter pushrod oiling

Just stock vortec replacements from local parts store, I really don't remember the brand, maybe engine tech. Probably some of the recent flood of Chinese parts. Look around and you can get American made hrl from people like Steve Morris, bought in bulk and sold at decent price. https://www.stevemor...

Surprised you're the only one suggesting that. As everyone knows the cost to build the 383-385 is the same.

Re: Deepening a spark plug

dyno curves don't show throttle response, misfires, and other short anomalies You missed my point. Those engines are very highly refined. If there were gains to be made, they would do it. Pro Stock teams will spend thousands of dollars for just a few hp. If indexing the plugs gained them anything a...

Yeah, the fact that multiple searches with various keywords didn't uncover anything had me wondering.
