Re: When does custom porting become beneficial?
If you want longevity, just put an ls and make it look like a stock factory looking 350.

Re: 401 sbc ready for the Dyno
I don’t think any more power will be squeezed out of this small head 401 sbc. So time for a bit of fun and revisit the guesstimates. I’m calling it 568hp @ 6500rpm and 532ft/4900rpm from a run with 975cfm carb that wasn’t influenced by multiple runs (the 571hp/538ft/lb run) Ok as a Ford man i'll go...

Re: battery tech
I'm trying to do everything i can to get my new race car down to the weight of my old car that i crashed. So when i show up at the track in theory it should run at least the same speed. This new car has a few things that add weight and a few things that are lighter but it ended up being about 53 po...

Re: Vacuum Pumps: Plumbing Arrangement
But if you have a engine designed for vac pump ,imo quite a bit can be learned. We just recently dyno tested a 380 inch sbc. We tried a new vac electric , new 4 vane from company we never tried before. Base engine made 893 hp after broke in. With electric pump that only pulled 11" it made 916 ...

It's simple Ripper's engine is not making the hp that the dyno printed out.

Re: Mission Impossible 318ci 318HP
How is this abortion not completed? Uncle Tony's project originally. 318 rebuilt with massaged standard parts, try and get 1 for 1 with BBD carb hence Mission Impossible. Went to Vizard, Vizard said after the 2 barrel dyno runs lets chuck a 4 barrel on it and we'll have our 318HP. Vizards mate Andy...

Re: camshaft intake valve closing
Warp Speed, I was referring to the 19000+ cam dyno tests that D. Vizard did while contracted to Crane Cams. You have tested a few hundred? Well you have only got about 18000 to go to catch up to DV..... I have NEVER mentioned the number 500,000. Someone else did....I also find the number incredible...
