Re: E85 Advice
Yea the scariest part of converting to ethanol is the wild range of pump gas. I am aware of racers testing their fuels before race day so they can compensate delivery, it seems archaic almost, but if you are running at the limits it must be necessary. My tuner suggested we run a flex tune setup wher...

Re: E85 Advice
Yea honestly I think it varies by location and time of year for pump ethanol. I called my local hot rod shops and they can get me torco “t85” with the additives for $60 a pail or $500 a drum. Those are guaranteed 105 octane or whatever but it’s triple what the local pump is offering, hmmm….

Re: 9.5 Deck Cleveland Headers for '67 Mustang
Try FPA (ford powertrain applications or something like that) they have all these engines dialed in for the vintage fords. I have them on my 351w based block and special n351 head flanges. They tuck perfectly and wrap around clutch linkages etc because the have models and templates of the different ...

E85 Advice
I’ve posted a few threads about an engine we are machining and building a big stroke 351w based engine that has high compression and I’m leaning more and more towards e85 since we have a station nearby. The long block was on the edge of detonation so I am nearly convinced to run corn but then a vide...

Re: windsor torino build ideas?
Is it the 8.2 deck block? You can punch it out to 355 with a 3.500 stroke and 1.055 ch pistons but I think those are hard to balance.

Re: 11.5 compression, Iron Head, 91 octane
E85 is a possibility, there’s a pump 3 miles from my house, but something about being tied to a specific location bothers me. So far we have: Keep the quench Blend chambers/ valve job Dialed timing Cold air What about the ivc? Is it of no consequence? I have smaller cams, one I like is 66* (seat ivc...

Re: 11.5 compression, Iron Head, 91 octane
I have a problem with the hotrod swap meets where I have to buy something if it’s Windsor or mustang, so I have carbs and distributors and cams and intakes. Using the big cam the best case I can see making this work is to blend the chambers to the seats and maybe a touch more, trying to find the bes...

Re: 11.5 compression, Iron Head, 91 octane
Here is the ls7 chamber
Something like this maybe
Here’s the piston, I thought about tracing the dish onto the chamber to open up. I know that could potentially screw the whole head, I’m already doubting this idea haha Something like this maybe

Re: 11.5 compression, Iron Head, 91 octane
IMG_0410.jpeg These are the n351 heads on a 4.100 stroke Windsor. I bought the heads used and never poured the chambers until recently, after I invested in the offset shaft rockers and custom header etc. They were supposed to be 64cc but apparently they got cleaned up a little too much. :? I would ...

Re: 11.5 compression, Iron Head, 91 octane
Ouch, manual trans, I probably would want comp closer to 11;1. Well if I find 3cc in the chamber to grind out I can actually hit 11:1. Chambers poured 52cc and are dual quench so I kinda want to open the chambers up to a ls7 shape. Might find those 3cc or more Put in a cam with a 114° LCA it'll run...
