Re: Lowbuck Shop/Race Truck Build

Back in the late 90s I had a square body I built for a shop truck, long bed. I had a one piece steel shaft built for it locally, It did have a vibration at hi way speeds. I had another shop build me the same shaft, no vibration at hi way speeds, I feel I owe it to my self to try with the 5 inch OEM...

Re: Lowbuck Shop/Race Truck Build

Also, fwiw, I think your 12-bolt will be fine. My truck weighs 4000 with me in it and has been 1.45 60 fts. with the truck 12-bolt. The 1985 Nhra Stock C-10 low compression 350 combination have run 11.90s with 1.47 60s @ 3800 and change. I will try a OEM 5 inch shaft, if that doesn't work I will pu...

Re: 750 holley dominator

Ok thanks for pointing that out guess I'm behind the times did not know they had the gen 3 in a 950 that will be the rout I'll go if I decide to do this. I wonder which manifold brodix HV 1002 or edelbrock victor might have the longer and maybe a bit smaller in cross section runners, anyone know ? ...

Pump gas 9:1 and hydro cam. 487 hp@ 5900 and 830 carb. We were hoping for over 400 so it was big bonus for us even ...

Re: cam suggestions for 355

[The 1.7 rocker won’t add any duration at .050” as that’s solely.050” tappet lift which is controlled by the camshaft lobe however the higher rocker ratios will provide more valve lift and make the seat duration at the valve longer with more valve area under the lift curve Here's how it actually wo...

Re: cam suggestions for 355

I do have the 190cc heads already. If i am comprehendingit correctly, it appears I would need the smaller cam with a 1.7 rocker atleast on the intake to get the needed lift. I am having a hard time figuring/understanding the change it will make to the overlap and duration above .050",all of wh...

Re: Small block Chevy wet sump oiling improvement

All, What can I do to improve my wet sump oiling system? I have a 1989 four bolt main hydraulic roller camshaft block. I'll be using a hydraulic roller camshaft in this engine. This engine will be in a weekend driver. Max rpm of this engine would be in the 5800-6000 rpm range. I will be using Comp ...

Eric & Chad both sell fully ported Profilers. I have a set that I got from Eric, nice heads but the D port Ex. makes header fitting a pain. Check with Tom @ 3V Performance as Tom CNC machines his heads all in house Chad farms all his CNC work out BIG differance LOL https://3vperformance.com/ Ch...

Re: 6800 rpm 421 SBC Combo

If I was going to build a HYD roller engine I would go to the Johnson Roller lifters those are very quite and you can adjust them as a anti pump up lifter and no problem. Going from solid roller springs to Hyd roller springs is not cheap as I did that last year with the 427 SBF but its what the cus...

I sonic test every OEM GM block that goes through my shops and according the sonic velocity I don't see and difference in material make. Their usually high 1800's. The Chinese Dart look a like block I believe was around 1300 and PBM was calling those blocks High Density blocks, You can see where th...

Re: Rod bolt stretch

Can I use a vernier micrometer to measure rod bolt stretch? I haven't compared it to my stretch gauge yet, but I will when I get a chance. I know it would be a different measuring point, but do you think it will be accurate? To me, there is nothing more aggravating than fighting that dang stretch g...
