How far in do you drive the rear cam tunnel plug? And does it effect cam location?

Switching a ft block to roller cam, was wondering if the depth of the rear cam tunnel plug plays a part in cam location in the block. A Google search turns up some saying to just drive it in flush, others say 1/8th in past flush.

When upgrading a ft sbc bock to a roller retrofit cam, are the belt drive setups fixed to properly locate the cam?

A 383 crank would go a long way to helping your project goals A solid street roller around 248/254 @.050 on 108lsa would Be a good starting point Eventually that's where I'm going but for now I'm stuck with what I have. Plan on buying a small base circle cam so I can continue using it when I upgrad...

Any reason why I shouldn't just weld the phaser down instead of stuffing it with aluminum blocks like everyone else does?
