Re: Inexpensive 350 Build

Next the rear suspension will have to be addressed. Any details here you care to share? I see a wheels up launch so there's something going on that's peaked my 3rd gen Camaro interest! I want to put an anti roll on there. The differential isn't right, too tight, the front brakes drag, and a good tr...

Re: New member, somewhat unique application with a SBC

Packard hope we can agree to disagree 😀 It's not like a 7000 valvetrain is anything exotic or really that expensive for a sbc . And a 380 would still have plenty down low and through the mid given the weight and gearing .

Re: New member, somewhat unique application with a SBC

very nice car . I've never played with anything like that but with the 2000 lb weight and you not racing it I was thinking at lot smaller engine . 380" at most 4.155x3.5 if you went with a shp , you would gain rpm over the larger engine with the same heads and induction and you might get longer...

Re: Late 90's YATES, N351, TFS TW SBF valve train parts NEW and USED

Hi Mummert I'm in Prince George BC V2K 5A2 I'm also interested if any of the Yates rockers could work on Cleveland , do you have any pivot lengths , are the valves all Ti ? Also assuming std base circle on cam ? I can send cheque for USD amount after postage and handling is determined when it clears...

I'll take the 460 POS intake and the 254-59 W cam if your buddy will send them USPS to Canada . If interested I'll pm my address so he can figure out the shipping cost .

Re: 466 Ford cast piston preferences

Thanks mag , I already have gotten 2.19 and 1.76 Ferrea valves for the heads . I don't see rpm past 5500 and probably max 450-75 hp with the cam I'm looking at . Paul this engine is going into a jetboat hoping to turn an A stainless 5000+ in the afternoon heat . I was looking at the uem merc piston ...

466 Ford cast piston preferences

Looking for any experiences anybody's seen lately with quality of the cheaper speed pro or silvolites . Are silvolite still USA and SP all made in India now ? That may make my decision right there . I will be decking block to optimize quench and will adjust dish volume for a 9-1 max with whatever I ...

Re: Building an 11 second 70's nostalgic SBC

I agree VMC , build it with everything that was available in 77 right down to the lakewood trac bars and shocks not rocket surgery at all . The older head cores are about the only thing getting hard to get . I'd like a single pattern with 108 lsa with Z hi rise and full exhaust , isky z60 is what I ...

Re: cilinderhead question

Belgium79 sounds like your car had some good pieces installed . 292 heads and a 22 transmission were the good stuff in 1980s not with 3.08s unless it was a highway long track car . Pretty cool that you had a dealer that built the car with dealer order parts like that 👍

Re: Building an 11 second 70's nostalgic SBC

I like the 350 I recommend on page 2 over a 383 , easier to hook up on the street tires and higher rpm with same heads as 383 . Small tire stock wheels with a 4.88 gear . The alum case t10 will thank you . Get a scatter shield and a good flywheel and clutch setup . And try too keep the stupid grin o...

Re: Building an 11 second 70's nostalgic SBC

Tuner no doubting that but do they look like a 70's head ? I've never looked at them I think they might have the 12 bolt intake ??? I think Rob needs to decide on his choice for heads what crank for his 350 block , and what tire with his 3.73 gear then he could get some better suggestions for the re...
