Anyone make a Victor Jr height intake for Clevors?

I'm looking around at intakes for a possible clevor build. The tallest intake I could fit in my car with the Windsor combo and my hood scoop was a super victor (6.25in carb pad height). So far the only single plane intakes I've seen for a clevor have much taller pad heights than the 6.25in SV, there...

Re: TorqueMaster cam program update

For the crank spec on SBF Windsor engines, the field should allow the 4.25 stroke cranks. Right now the max entry is 4.2 I fudged my inputs from my actual spec of 4.25 crank and 4.155 bore, to 4.2 crank and 4.18 bore to arrive at the right Cu in of 461. Not sure if fudging the bore and stroke has an...

Re: Opinions on my street 427 Windsor dyno results?

Take it down the track with this setup and let us know how it goes, it would be interesting to see the difference in MPH.

That is a great looking car and it's got to be a blast to drive..

Re: DSS 427 SB Ford build

Did this build ever get finished and dyno'd?

Also, any news about the Ford Windsor book David is putting together?

Re: ? for the cam gurus, overlap differences based on flow

Yeah that was the original idea, big motor, great head/tame cam. I think me using the word drivability isn't helping the conversation though. It's a subjective term. What does it really mean right? Different to everybody. I think Walter Malik is right in that with 461 cubic inches in a 3200lb car wi...

Re: ? for the cam gurus, overlap differences based on flow

Also, just talked with Ron at Fox Lake and he said I might be better served with their Stage 4 at 240ccs rather than the stage 5.
Fox Lake Stage 4, 240cc, 2.1 intake
.100 - 77/68
.200 - 158/120
.300 - 226/179
.400 - 272/219
.500 - 313/235
.600 - 333/242
.700 - 347/250

So many choices..

Re: ? for the cam gurus, overlap differences based on flow

I'm leaning toward the AFR 220 at this point, which is a definite plus for the budget. One more question - would a stock or possibly ported Victor Jr intake be capable of making the power number on this combo? I've got some hood clearance issues even with a scoop on the car. I mocked up a 351 block,...

Re: ? for the cam gurus, overlap differences based on flow

Thanks Mike, I really appreciate your help. Sounds like the fox lake head would require a duration so short to make peak HP at the rpm I'm shooting for that lift would be severely limited?

Re: ? for the cam gurus, overlap differences based on flow

also, Mike mentioned that the TFS would require more lift. I remember David Vizard saying in the post on his AFR 220 headed 408 something like "with the .700 lift that this head requires" or something to that effect. I'm guessing that there is an optimum lift number for making max HP on an...

Re: ? for the cam gurus, overlap differences based on flow

wyrmrider -

About valve length - I took this from the Fox Lake website - "Valve length of 5.300 must be used for installed height of 2.00 or more."

Re: ? for the cam gurus, overlap differences based on flow

Thanks for weighing in Walter and wyrmrider. That was the reason I wanted to go as large as possible for the car. I originally had ideas of building something you have mentioned before - a 400in 8.2 deck engine, but after talking to the guys at MPG the costs for the bottom end were pretty high. What...

Re: ? for the cam gurus, overlap differences based on flow

So would that manifest itself in just less low end torque or stumbling off idle or both? Or some other less than desirable behavior?
