Re: Another reason not to buy Speedmaster shit
This sucks. These boys in Ft. Worth need to be able to retire over this crap. I hope they get a kick ass lawyer who sues the pants off of every person involved in this scandal. The guy in the video said he knew somebody was copying his work, so hopefully they can go all the way back and start from t...

Re: Inexpensive 350 Build
Nice! I always loved that place. When I was in High School, (Lanier) our Auto Mechanics teacher had a Super Gas Pinto and we would spend the day out there with him. Good memories from the 80s right there. The weather is nice up here too, and Rockingham just got resurfaced and flattened out recently....

Re: Inexpensive 350 Build
I had that exact cam in a freshened up (fresh hone, new rings, bearings) L31 out of a 99 Suburban. Beehive springs, and stock rockers, in my 78 C10. Truck is a longbed, and weighed in about 4000 pounds with me in it back then. 3.90 gear and a 700R4. She went 13.5s all day long. Truck runs mid 12s now...

Re: Engine builder recommendations.
You never called me, I'm in Georgetown and you can be sure there's a new game in town now............... You both need to meet me up in Temple! We can make some passes at Little River. You race at Little River? I have before. Been going there since the 80s. I grew up in Austin, but 6 years ago move...

Re: Summit racing budget 350/400 blocks.
500 more get a SHP. 500 less get a Speedmaster.
Dont all these aftermarket blocks need machining to some degree?
So the question would come to total cost after all work done? And which one will help you sleep better at night knowing you got a good deal?

Re: Engine builder recommendations.
Last time I was on Speed Talk looking for someone to build me an engine nobody wanted the job which is why I went to BPE and got the job done instead. I dont understand why every time I look on this page for an builder, I see engine builders talking about how crates are killing their businesses but...

Re: How to patch holes and other bodywork that's long-lasting?
Often on lapped welded patches that patch edge will become visible in the painted finish over time. You can see the patch slightly in the finish. The bondo shrinks. I learned in the 80s to put down a coat of KittyHair, or another fiberglass filler directly over welds on repair panels. This included...

Re: Custom Carb Builder
Thanks Tuner! I was wondering how it was possible, but now I understand. No doubt William Baldwin will bring some of these tricks to the table. I am all for the simplicity, (in wiring) and keeping the car old school. (sbc vs newer tech) One more vote for Baldwin. My other choice is an AED carb, with...

Baldwin performance carburetor’s [/quote] I spoke with William B. yesterday, and he is the one I had my eye on at first. But there were a couple of Red Flags that jumped out at me. Paypal friends and family for deposit being the biggest one... Although I do like the fact he wants to get me an HEI an...

Custom Carb Builder
Hello. Long time lurker, looking for a recommendation. I have a hot street 427 SBC. I am fed up with the Proflo4 setup on the car right now. Looking for a reputable builder in the NC area. I have one in mind, but am looking for other options. I can elaborate on build, but just putting feelers out ri...

Re: Intake Manifold testing
Eric, how does a fellow get a copy of the book? I saw it in one of the videos, but didnt really pay attention. Now I like the thought of having all that in one place, on good old fashioned paper.
