The thinner the pin, the greater the flexibility. The smaller the diameter of the pin, the greater the flexibility.
Having said that, I sell pistons and pins ... go for it!

Re: 6.135 rod with 4.600 bore bbc
If I were in your shoes, I would find a used set of eagle or scat 6.535 rods to put in it. With the miles it will get and the better piston design I would not worry about its skirt length, which would still be fine with the 4” stroke. It would make for a lighter piston. It would also be nice piece ...

Re: Speedmaster aluminum block
This sbf block I have here looks the part, but I don't trust it. Aside from the shitty name and reputation, has anyone here put one into service? Trust me, I'm not a fan of it.. just inquiring. Yes, in a magazine build. The guy writing the article brought it in. It was fine, in that I don't remembe...

Re: Math Problem
[-X Being bored is besides the point :D It’s not a 90 degree deck. Here is a picture of the piston and you’ll see why my question is appropriate. The large dome is on the outside of the block and the low portion on the valley side. The bore is getting beat up on the valley side on BOTH banks. The p...

Re: Math Problem
Don't original TRW extruded 409 pistons have more clearance in that area on the side of the dome to avoid contact with the wall? If the intake air is unfiltered any abrasive ingested would certainly make the wear much worse. Perhaps some 2-stroke oil in the fuel would improve lubrication of that ar...

Re: Math Problem
"At TDC it has zero velocity, zero acceleration and so zero force on it." This is incorrect. The velocity does go to zero at TDC, however, the acceleration peaks at TDC. Let's assume that the rod length is long enough to approximate the piston position as a sinusoid. Take the derivative f...
