Re: small block mopar intakes

Let's face it. At this point everyone is running whatever they can get their hands on.

Re: Piston/Ring Question

A 3.0 mmm oil ring maxes out at about 13lbs, compared to 20 to 23 for a 3/16 std tension oil. They all back off a bit after they get hot. If you want, you can run a 9 lb oil ring....but there's really no point. The Total Seal Set for 4.125_1/16 1/16 3.0 is CR1002 and ships with an 11lb oil ring. Kev...

I developed the only CARB legal short block in the industry. In 15 years I think I sold about three.

Racers don't care about laws.

Re: Will the real, Johnson Tappets please stand up

We use Hy-Lift Johnson for all our flat tappet lifters, and have for decades. Most major performance cam companies use them too, or buy imports. We don't sell many mild cams. Most of our flat tappet cams are for racing, and require 380-420lbs of spring pressure. We have no lifter issues. Back in th...

Re: Engine Masters rod ratio test results

for the ones that watched it what was your take on it? Were you surprised the shorter rods made more power? No ... not at all. Some people have simply kept their mouth shut because all the "experts" out there know everything; without actually testing. Do you mean people like Reher and Morrison?

Re: Ring lands lifting

Look at the ends of your rings, where the dap is. if they are polished the rings were butting. They won't be polished.

When you lift the land adjacent to the intake pocket, you went lean.

Re: Piston Design Questions

Run the flat top and a .080 gasket. I take it then that you've little concern for an excessive gap between the piston and the head? Seems the conventional thinking is that it deserves attention. This is part of the reason for my wanting to stay away from a full dish as opposed to something with a D...
