Re: Holley 9379 on a street Car

I haven't even opened it up see what the jetting is at. Holley shows similar primary jetting to a 4779 but a bit bigger secondary. 81 I believe.

Thanks for the replies…much appreciated

Re: Carb Sizing/vacuum or Mechanical

The recommended plug was an FR5. Same spec as Autolite 3924.

barnym17 wrote: Fri Jul 21, 2023 8:20 pm Also plugs maybe a little cold?
I am running an NGK FR4 plug. Its a step hotter than the suggested plug by the head manufacturer which suggested Autolite 3924.

1 1/8 is where I am running them now. Little bit of a stumble off idle. Possible a different cam? Looks to be the white cam in there presently

Re: Carb Sizing/vacuum or Mechanical

One issue I am having with the 3310-1 on the 327 is a bit of a tail chaser. Well maybe its two issues. Lol Firstly, using vacuum gauge and a low range tach to set the idle screws they like just under one full turn out. The issue then is when gently accelerating from a stop the engine has a lean stum...

Re: Carb Sizing/vacuum or Mechanical

Looks like it is possible that my performance issues with this air filter could be related to the vent tubes. Very little clearance. Tough to get a good picture but likely only .150” clearance . Coule be less. I swapped in some short angled tubes and will give it another chance this week.

Re: Carb Sizing/vacuum or Mechanical

3310-1.png Did you purchase the complete air breather with the lid? Did you change the vent tubes to the shorter angle cut style? You can angle cut the tubes youself. This air breather used a 14 x 3 air filter. If you have hood clearance you can use 14 x 3.25 / 14 x 3.5 / 14 x 3.75 or 14 x 4 inch a...

68 was the first year of the bigger journal and the elimination of the road draft hole at the back of the block. Valve covers also got holes in them that year

Re: Carb Sizing/vacuum or Mechanical

Exactly the same setup I use on my L79 air cleaner. The 66 L79 used the closed PCV system. PCV valve is mounted on the oil fill tube with a non vented cap sucking into the carb base. Fresh air can enter the crankcase via the road draft tube on the back of the block connected to the tube you have cir...
