Re: AFR Eliminator Race Intake Manifold for SBC
Not the 4811, but I've got the 4810PM on a 406. Unfortunately haven't gotten it on a dyno with the new combo, but at the strip with 3400 DA it ran: 60'= 1.8 (255/50-17 Nitto G2's. Honestly surprised they did that well) 1/8= 7.62@96 1/4= 11.76@121 Definitely needs some drag radials next year 72 Vette...

Re: Melling SharkTooth Oil Pumps and High Pressures: Is this a problem?
Yes. I have a crank trigger wheel so I've already had to space my pulleys and have shims for the water pump and an adjustable bracket for the power steering pump. The problem according to CVF is that the distance between the grooves are different in "Corvette" SBC pumps vs. short or long ...

Re: Edmonton AB shop
AMS did good work for me, just left a sour taste from not being honest about the timeline.
Bel Engine Services is top notch.

Re: Any downsides to anti reversion mufflers/devices?
FMF swears by them on the 4 strokes. Just the Megabomb header made noticeable difference in low and mid range on a Honda 250 4-stroke (that was already known for it's low and mid range unlike the new ones)

Re: K&N Xtreme air filter top on 69 Camaro factory cowl inductio
9 times out of ten, the lid combined with a round filter loses power as it creates turbulence at the carb entrance. Which is why (if the setup isn't blocked by an extreme drop base) you'll make more power with just the round filter. However, the Engine Masters tests inspired my current setup. As it'...

AFR SBC Eliminator Intakes Testing
I've searched everywhere I can find and have seen nothing about anyone testing these new intakes.
Anybody seen or done anything with them? Specifically looking at the single planes but any info would be a lead.

Re: 6" Rod Pistons Heavier Than 5.7"?
When you say the rods differ by about 5 grams is that total weight or end to end weights. I was referring to total weight not specifically either end. Funny thing is 2" journal rods are heavier on the big end then the 2.100" journal size cause the hole is smaller.again you never mentioned...

Re: 6" Rod Pistons Heavier Than 5.7"?
Heavier pin maybe ? Or maybe on the 5.7 rod version they cut more of the pin bosses for counterweight clearance. The oil ring rails probably dont add that much when you figure they have to cut the ring groove deeper to compensate. If I remember correctly the ring rails are usually around 9 grams. E...

6" Rod Pistons Heavier Than 5.7"?
Here's a new one for me. Anyone seen this before? Is this common or just my #$%@ing luck? Had new 5.7" rods and pistons for the new motor and had the opportunity to switch them to 6" rods and pistons for no cost so went for it. Figured at the very least it'd be less bobweight for balancing...
