Re: Neway cutters and seat concentricity

I'm wondering if your talking about seeing the 1 degree off set of the cutters?

Re: BB Mopar, rings, compression, cam,ect

Since your doing pistons anyway, I'd be tempted to roll/offset dowel the heads off the cylinder wall.

Re: BB Mopar, rings, compression, cam,ect

My estimate would be that you have about 650 HP@ 6000-6200 rpm. A good running combination in my view. To get to 9.50 you're going to have to get close to 140 MPH. At the same weight, that means you need about 100 HP.

Re: distributor gears and cam cores

After what Dwayne posted about potential cam wear, which was something in the back of my mind anyway, my mind is made up. Bronze it is. Especially since BBM is probably the easiest engine on earth to change the gear on. It will just have to a maintenance item to keep an eye on.

Re: distributor gears and cam cores

Mike, I'm installing your cam R76424-77424 in a 440 Mopar w/a high volume oil pump. What dist gear should I run? I ask because Crane says high volume is a no-no with their coated gears.

Re: Engine simulation programs ??

As a card carrying member of the low I.Q. club, I bought Eng Mod 4T because I was considering buying TFX pressure measurement equipment but was worried that I wouldn't be able to analyze pressure plots. Well, After 2 years worth of sims, my fears were validated. Was it still a grate investment? Abso...

I use a contraption similar to that but I use micrometer heads you can buy on e-bay for short money, no indicator required.

Re: LS1 5.7 camshaft advance

Modern sealing technology is one of the best attributes of the ls platform in my opinion. The only major oil leak I ever had was when I broke a rod in the water box and pieces of the block landed on the track. That was a pretty good size coolant leak too!
