Re: rpm-act

j-c-teepha doesn't understand performance art is a thing and has protected status. Never been to a strip club because they/them are afraid to go for fear of what pollutants might be there.

Re: rpm-act

Not sure were you are going with this, but the grey area in your argument is when freedom of expression transcends into freedom of action. I can own a gun, and maybe display it many circumstances, but I think most will agree, my rights to shoot it are limited, and that is widely accepted. Same kind...

Re: rpm-act

The First Amendment assures freedom of expression in all forms, not just spoken words or printed words, but artistic expression in any form (short of kiddie pron), obscene pictures, films or sculptures, naked 'exotic dancing', etc, and the crucifix in a jar of excrement is the extreme example. It is...

Re: Pondering about flathead potentials

In addition, I think the best thing you can do for the FH, is run as small a engine as possible, with the highest CR you can obtain and run in class racing. With smaller ci, the cylinder will fill better with the limited it's flow. Agree. I have this discussion with Studebaker V8 builders. Since th...

Re: Why are these holes made in crankshafts?

... Whatever that is, I can't read/view it in that format. Can you summarize if possible how it addresses how any solid cylinder has significantly greater torsional strength when its drilled, and effectively becomes a tube? I just double checked by downloading an image. They are of sufficiently hig...

Not long, as anyone who ever mixed the early Chevy II short oil pump with a regular intermediate shaft found out.

Re: How to select the right carb boosters?

I would have thought that on a street engine you'd want all the vaporization and low speed manners you could get and damn the 15hp (or whatever) it costs. In this situation it’s more than a 15hp difference…it feels more like 50. Seriously. Were you using a WBO2 and tuning the carbs with annular boo...

I know, I came up with zero also!
You have to agree the dual QJet intakes are impressive. :D

Re: distributor looens up

I don't understand what the oil pump has to do with the distributor housing moving around. All the load from the oil pump is on the distributor shaft and gear, but not on the housing. Seems to me that the only reason the housing moves around is because the shaft is applying torque to the housing . ...

Boring the rod and main journals significantly increases torsional strength.
