i have used both the cometic and felpro mls gaskets and prefer the felpro because they have a single sealing ring between cylinder (400 chev) which in turned has more clamping load in that area. I use VHT copper gasket spray and make sure the surface finish is correct. I use cbn & pcd type tooli...

500hp from a set of fuelies in street use might be a stretch, would require 383/400 cubes. Im not sure what you guys over there achieve, i have a 355 with 11.2 comp,462s 1.980/ 1.5in that flowed 220cfm @ 25in, solid cam .550/530 254/260 produced 468 hp, I think from memory it cost about $4000 NZ but...

We race anti-clockwise over here with torque loading of the engine, the car has a natural tendancy to hang the ass out. Our combination is the only car in the country that is reverse rotation. So when the torque is applied the car has a natural tendancy to turn left and hug the pole line. It has the...

hi there wolf, i had a set of RHS 23 deg heads that i plugged and redrilled to suit a T & D 14deg rocker stand as i was on a time line and waiting 12-16 weeks wasnt an option. The RHS 23deg heads require .100 in longer valves, also anglarity/loading of the pushrod ( sideways) you have to take in...

pehaps a side draft in panama would work a treat

yes it is a brasswell with an adapter plate underneath to straighten the carb to level, this in itself creates issues as the plenum is to big and velocity/signal strength is less, troy would have a laugh at the system we used to fix the distribution. This is going abit off subject, i will start anot...

hi there JV, in our application the engine sits on the side as they had a problem with the inside running lean with the g forces on the oval track. The bottom bank is basically at 90 deg and the engine has a very low C.O.G we could drop a pressure section out as we do flood the bottom bank. The engi...

because of the round rocker shaft & pedestal you cant use flat shim stock, the shims actually taper up the sides so you still maintain the support. I am aiming for .020-.045 in preload.

thanks for the contacts ed & CJ

I have exhausted all the sources over here and they said they are on back order. The other alternative if i cant locate any shims is .0...
