Mistuned engine stalling at idle. But never heard it called that before either.

Re: BBC 396 stroker
Hi Alan, can I ask you how much time do you spend on adjusting corner weights for Camaro stockers? Or do you fix it with preload on the bars? I don't have access to any scales, but could make some Ruggles type scales. Thanks.

Re: BBC 396 stroker
The A/SA record is 9.93 at 129.99 on 2/21/16. Mr. DeArmond has had the record along time. So how much ET is in his chassis tuning skills. I would love to have him set my car up, but certainly could not afford him.

question for FC pilot,
Hi FC, thanks for the info on the Wagner pads. Nice to see a recommendation from actually testing streetable brake pads. My question is: have you ever tested the Satisfied Ceramic pads when they were available? I thought they were a nice pad. But never got them hot enough to fade. Maybe I'm mistaken...

Re: Brake line pressure
I went thru this same issue back in the day with a 68 Camaro. Similar size car and similar parts as your friend's 65 Chevelle I think. I tried every master cylinder for Chevy's I could get, including a 1 1/4" truck master. I didn't want power assist, and I never had trouble locking the brakes u...

Re: LS cam bearings
I had trouble also, with the wide bearings, cam wouldn't go in. Switched to the narrow set and the cam slid right in. Gen 4 block, both cam sets were durabond. The wider bearings seem to need a perfect alinement installation done. The cam tool mandrels that hammer-in, may not be good enough.

Re: Brake line pressure
You should be able to develop 1000 psi line pressure with an average man. 1500 psi in a panic stop. 2000 psi may blow out seals. Pedal force for calculations should be 150 lbs. You have to calc your pedal leverage ratio for force on master cylinder. I suspect that you need a 1 1/16" to 1 1/8&qu...

I took the OP's post as total sarcasm, to bait and spool up the membership. May have worked.

Re: Customers - gotta love 'em.
Machine shops gotta love em, Dropped off some heads at the best shop in town, back when I was 19. They cut the valves, but only the seats in one head, reassembled gave them back to me cause I'm a dumbass kid. I had power mechanics in high school and knew enough to pour solvent in the ports. Got my m...

Re: LS engine reluctor / timing wheel
The ECM is looking for the 14th tooth. Lance from PanteraEFI prefers the 13th tooth. The space would be close to the top of the block, very tough to see. HTH.

Re: LS engine reluctor / timing wheel
Did you find my reference to the posting at LS1 tech? I don't have my notes here, but off the top of my head... you will see the 14th tooth centered in the "window" of the Crank Sensor with #1 cyl at TDC. The 14th T is after the space. CW looking forward. Mark that tooth with paint. In add...
